We stayed 3 nights (Sept. 28th-30th) and enjoyed it very much. Easy walking distance down the hill 10-15 minutes to downtown/waterfront of Parikia. Public bus stop right in front of the hotel - so easy access to Antiparos, Naousa, Leftkes, etc. The view from our room's balcony was panoramic and we loved watching the ship traffic & sailboats. The expansive grounds & garden were lovely and the pool was huge. Fresh pomegranate & fig trees and many other fauna varieties. Lovely large outside patio area for eating buffet breakfast and any evening a-la-carte good choices. Our room was small, but nicely appointed. They do need to check the plumbing pipes --- the shower water came up through the floor drain. Marianna (daytime front desk) was outstanding and gave us a quick tour upon arrival and always available to answer any island travel questions or make suggestions. The evening clerk was terrific as well. Alex in the restaurant area was very professional and courteous. The two other staff that handled luggage, etc. were prompt and friendly. The breakfast variety and abundance created by the kitchen staff was very enjoyable and the abundance of fresh fruit was a terrific way to start the day. They were closing for the season on October 1st, so we caught them at the end of the season. Hopefully they will do a bit "sprucing up" before next spring. The facilities are looking a bit tired in spots and need some attention. Overall, we loved the casual welcoming atmosphere and would certainly return again in...
Read moreWe stayed at High Mills Paros Hotel, Parikia and were really disappointed. The photos online are quite misleading — while the location itself is nice overlooking the sea , the hotel is not well maintained. Our room felt outdated and wasn’t very clean, with worn furniture and a musty smell. The bathroom was especially unpleasant it felt cramped with poor water pressure, mostly cold and the shower had dirty rusty drain covers which felt very unhygienic. The air conditioning barely worked, making the heat hard to tolerate. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, very hard and difficult to sleep on. We had to ask for an extra foam mattress just to make it bearable, which says a lot about the basic level of comfort. The rooms are not soundproof, you can hear noises even from down the corridor in the middle of the night. Breakfast was very basic, with limited variety and low-quality options. The staff were polite but not particularly welcoming or helpful and there was little effort to make our stay comfortable. Overall, this hotel felt very overpriced for what was offered and we left feeling disappointed. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others visiting Paros, there are definitely better...
Read moreWhen we arrived the Reception was cold and unwelcoming. We were given a map of the island, a very undetailed bus timetable - no info about the hotel, no tourist information |We were told if was a 20€ taxi to tow or a 20 minute walk - down a busy road with no pavements!|The area round the hotel is full of rubbish. Not a pleasant area|The room had a great view….however|- no drawers for clothes. Just hanging space.|- no tissues|- sink in the bedroom, not the bathroom|- noisy fridge - not good if you are a light sleeper|- nice balcony. Just needs to be swept|- bedside lights would illuminate the whole room|- only one thin blanket on the bed. We froze and were given an extra after that|- bathroom could be cleaner|- bed was made up but the bathroom was not|- breakfast was 0K |- they advertise a restaurant but it shuts at 4pm. You are then left with the need to get to town for a meal|- bar not often open. Only sells wine by the bottle, not the glass|- pool area was good!|I know this may appear tough but it is important thatthe hotel is aware of the need to be users friendly and aware of the area of town that they are in so that they can assist...
