Mandaniki Apartments — Hotel in Skiathos Municipality

Fantastic host. Katerina is friendly , helpful and clearly loves what she does. |Wonderful welcome on our arrival- given cold water , beers and a bottle of wine. |Accommodation is spotless - ample towels supplied ( huge bath sheet too which is a bonus ) . Rooms cleaned daily and water replenished too. |The balcony is a good addition with comfortable sun beds and chairs. |Breakfast of tea, coffee , fruit juice , pastries and apple cake is offered each morning between 9-11am on the terrace. |The apartment is ideally located between bus stop 8 and 9 to catch the bus either way eg to Skiathos town or Koukounaries |The water taxi is also just down the hill at Vasilias beach which is is lovely way to get to the town. |At Vasilias beach you will also find a wonderful restaurant Sorokos which is newly opened and run by a lovely family team. ||Although we realised from reading previous reviews that it was situated on the hill above the road we did not realise quite how noisy it would be . It detracts slightly from the wonderful views while sitting on the balcony particularly of an evening.|Also , the main negative for us was the uncomfortable bed. My brother and I stayed here for a wedding that was happening at the Hotel Kassandra Bay nearby. We weren't expecting too much but were pleasantly surprised. The owner greeted us from the taxi, put a beer in our hands and went to get the keys for the room. The room was cool and air conditioned, the wifi was faster than home and the place very clean. Even though we got up late breakfast was made with fresh coffee and continental in style with a lovely glass of traditional smoothie. We used the facilities in the near hotels and the beach although a steep 5minute walk across a slight busy road was perfect with water taxis from Hotel Kassandra straight into Skiathos town. We left after a few days relaxed and the owner dropped us at the airport and even refused our tip! It made for a great weekend away. The views from the balcony of the room were stunning. Siamo stati ospiti di Mandaniki per nove giorni in tarda stagione ( dall'inizio alla metà di settembre ) e non ci siamo pentiti della prenotazione. Per quanto la struttura appaia, sia dall'esterno sia dal punto di vista degli arredamenti interni,spartana (pur trovandoci in Tessaglia) per il prezzo che offre è ottimo. Letti comodi, costanti cambi di lenzuola e pulizia buona. La vista spettacolare che si gode dalle varie terrazze vale il prezzo del pernottamento: svegliarsi con il sole che si staglia sul mare in tutto il suo splendore è quasi commovente.||La posizione della struttura è ottima, in quanto dista solo mezz'ora di cammino dal centro città e dunque non costringe il cliente a prendere costantemente l'autobus, non poco caro ( comunque c'è una fermata a venti metri dall'uscita, quindi anche i più pigri sono accontentati ).||Ma la vera risorsa di Mandaniki è la proprietaria, la signora Katerina! Gentilissima, accogliente, disponibilissima e parla anche un buon inglese ( per essere una greca ultrasessantenne ). Si presta come servizio Taxi per raggiungere mete lontane-fare la spesa , prepara colazioni luculliane a 5 euro a persona ( può sembrare tantino ma fidatevi, per quel che offre è ottimo ), capace di dare ottime consigli su varie mete e ottima problem solver per ogni esigenza. Offre persino una bottiglia di vino locale ad ogni coppia-famiglia che alloggia nei suoi appartamenti, cosa non da poco a mio parere. E tutto questo sempre col sorriso sulle labbra!||Problemi:||-Wi-fi abbastanza scadente, preparatevi la vostra connessione perché non potrete sempre contare sull'hot spot "Madaniki".||-Cucina non molto utilizzabile, se volete risparmiare su ristoranti e locali per i pasti cercate altrove.||-NON affidatevi ad un certo George se volete affittare una macchina come vi consiglierà la signora ( unica pecca di quella donna ), perché costa molto!||-I condizionatori sono molto rumorosi, se la stanza di fianco alla vostra dovesse accenderli potreste avere problemi nel sonno.||Se dovessi tornare a Skiatos, tornei sicuramente nel caldo abbraccio...
