We stayed at Marigouls studios for 2 weeks september..We had a studio which looked out towards Skopelos town, the view from the front was lovely also as the apartments are set down surrounded by tree covered hills..||As you are surrounded by farms be prepared for the sounds of chickens, turkeys, donkeys, sheep ect ect which to me is lovely...what was not so lovely was (and i think this has been mentioned before by some one else) the dogs barking, now i have dogs myself and when i saw the other review about this i thought to myself,oh how bad can it be,well let me tell you on more than just a few nights the dogs (and a whole valley full of dogs) barked from around 11pm until dawn non stop,it really was awful,if you are a light sleeper you will not get to sleep so all i can suggest is to take some ear plugs to try and cut out some of the noise..||The studio we stayed in was a normal basic Greek studio all you need for a week/2 week holiday,if you have a travel kettle take it if you don't no need to worry as there is a little pot especially for boiling up hot water.||The staff were superb especially Mercy who worked her socks off..we had clean bed linen and towels every 3rd day,the studio was cleaned every day although the floors were not moped once apart from the bath room floor...||The bath room although clean had a really bad smell of sewage or something so the window was kept open and then it could not be smelt..||Toilet rolls and soap was constantly supplied which was nice, one less thing to have to buy...||The studios were a very short walk away from the town but far enough out to feel you were in the country side.||The pool was really nice although we only went in at most twice as we swam in the sea instead but if you prefer pools then this would be ideal..||All in all a nice little place but the noise of the dogs spoilt it a bit as i am a...
Read moreI am late writing this review as whilst checking to re book for this year realised I hadn't written my review from2015. We stayed here last July for two weeks and had a fantastic trip. Apartment was cleaned daily, with regular changes of towels and linen. Pool area was beautiful and very peaceful. Great location to see all of the island and more. We hired a quad bike which was great fun and felt safe driving all over the island. We wanted to go to Alonisis and the Sophia (owner) booked us accomodation there. We even were lucky enough to get invited to lu n ch and drink with George, Sophia and their friends on our first day at the Mariguola. We like low key places and this was perfect, , 10 minutes walk into the town where you will find lots of great bars and restaurants. Lovely island and...
Read moreOne thing you need to know about this place is that there is a tiny church in the middle of all the appartments, it was right outside our room. Friday night there were outside mass from six in the evening until past midnight with 50+ people and lots of noise. We couldn't use our balcony (1st floor) in the evening because of this. The next morning (saturday) at eight there were outside mass AGAIN, with a guy singing loud with bell ringing waking us up. On vacation at a place like this I expect to get to sleep in on Saturdays. Also, it just doesn't feel right to use the swimming pool during daytime mass, as there are lots of church-going people using the entire area. Business+religion=BAD IDEA.
We will not be staying...
