Overall a bad experience, for the following reasons: I ordered a 16€ beef steak. They served me a small steak with one side completely burnt. Not overcooked, charred. They were dishonest by serving the steak with the good side up, and the charred down, so I wouldn't notice. They used sunflower oil for dishes which traditionally require virgin olive oil, like stuffed vegetables and grilled bread. The result is bad not only for the taste, but for your stomach too. If you cannot afford olive oil in Greece, then change business. The waiter (a gray-haired older guy) said no more than 2 words while we ordered. It is rude to not even respond to greetings. After paying the bill, I expressed my complaints to the girl at the register. She only nodded resignedly like she knew there are issues, but that was it. No apology or effort that shows they care.
The positives are that the place was nice, and some of the side dishes were tasty and well prepared.
Unfortunately, the damage was done and we left with an...
Read moreWe called them twice and they assured us that they dont reserve tables, no exceptions made, even if we were a large party of twelve. We went there, dragging six children from the other side of town to eat in the 'fantastic', 'five-star' restaurant. Only half restaurant was full and there were plenty of empty tables, but even though they were empty they were not free! The impolite waiter informed us that we could not sit to the empty tables without giving any specific reason. He even asked the owner-manager of the restaurant twice after we insisted on sitting on an empty table. Practically, he kicked us out of the restaurant for no reason at all. I really didnt understand why. Only thing I can think of, is that they reserve tables only for locals and friends and they kick foreigners out, unless they are sent by local hotels, which are being paid for this under the table. I thought that this shity kind of behaviour was hard to find nowadays but sadly...
Read moreMediocre food for a place that advertise itself that has fresh seafood. Only when we asked the waiter about the fresh options in the menu, he admitted that all of them are frozen (could have been just the day that fresh items were not supplied but they still need to inform the customers about it while ordering). The staff was kind of cold, for a greek taverna, like they were forced to be there, don't know the background but a smile and a welcome would be great, even when ordering our well seasoned waiter was not interested to even respond to our questions for alternatives of their food options. Again, perhaps it was our waiter that gave us this bad impression, the other staff was quite helpful and responsive to our needs. The vibe in the taverna was nice, would have rated with 5 stars, instead of 4, if they played at least a music playlist with classic songs instead of hearing ads about random stuff...
