Sofia's Garden Studios is the perfect location if you want to stay in Skopelos town. It's less than five minutes' walk from the main square but it's very quiet, with a lovely view looking towards the hills behind the town. ||||Lakis, the owner, could't have been more helpful. He doesn't have great English but we managed to communicate effectively, even when we had to explain that one of the orange trees outside our first-floor balcony was blocking our view beyond. Within a minute - literally - he was back with his pruning equipment - see photo.||||The rooms are clean, bright and have good air conditioning (which was on in anticipation of our arrival). They also have a free room safe. They are tidied every day and you get new towels every other day. The air conditioning is free, there's a TV, good free wifi and toiletries. In fact, it's all very well organised, without being bossy. You're supposed to check out at 11am and check in after 3pm but we turned up at about 1.30pm and Lakis was there ready and waiting for us.||||If you're not a cat lover, you might not like the fact that the friendly pet cats loll around all the time but, somehow, they know not to go into the rooms. In fact, one of us positively dislikes cats but rather took to this lot. They're rather sweet.||||This is our first visit to Skopelos but we'll definitely come back and we'll definitely stay with Lakis in Sofia's Garden...
Read moreSpent 3 days here as part of a travelling around Skopelos and Skiathos 2 week holiday.|The owners don't speak much English and tend to leave you alone. Facilities are good with TV, good wi-fi, comfy beds, balconies, kettle, cooker, fridge, toaster and hairdryer.|The location is wonderful. Just a few alleys back from the harbour and a few yards from the main old square. Here you can find some shops and great gyros take-aways. Despite being close to the action, you cannot hear a thing as cars cannot get near because of the narrow streets. If you hire a car, you have to park it at the harbour for free.|There are plenty of decent restaurants nearby but the only beach is alongside the harbour and is not the best.|We used the local bus from near the harbour to go to Stafilos (10 mins away) and Agnontas (15 mins away). Both are absolutely stunning and the bus only costs €1.60 each way!! Timetables are at the bus station and each resort. Its so easy to use.|Sofia's is a great place to stay as you get the best of both worlds. You stay in a beautiful, bustling town yet you are only 10 mins from fantastic beaches.|Highly...
Read moreWe spent 2 nights at Sofia's Garden Studio's whilst travelling around the islands, the, location is very good and only a short distance from the port, it is also well signposted and easy to find. We let them know what time we would arrive and Sofia's husband, who is a lovely man came to the end of the street to look for us. The Studio has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable. The balcony looked over the gardens and out to sea and was very peaceful. The owners do not speak very much English but were still easy to communicate with and very friendly, Sophia made us a Greek Pie which was delicious. Skopelos Town is very quite in the day but comes to life at night with lots of little streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants, a very special place with lots to see and lovely people. Look forward to returning to Skopelos and to...
