Extremely rude owner! I visited friends staying in the hotel and stopped my motorhome (just parked it) near by the hotel. I was told to move away. When I kindly asked why and asked if this is private property I was told by the owner that it is and I should move. I told him I know it is not his, but I will move out of respect. I moved even further from the hotel he told me that this is also his and he is using it for parking for his customers. So I suggested that either he picks a place or call the police. He was very rude the whole time. Of course, he called the police and when they came and said that everything is OK he forgot to mention that this is his property (may be whole Thassos is his in his dreams?). The policemen were very kind and in perfect English wished me a good stay and explained to him in English in front of me that he has no right to say where people can park.
Most of the things in the menu were missing. They came after 40 minutes and before you finish your meal the waiter comes and takes your plate.
Very unpleased person is the owner and I do not recommend anyone to visit this place!
Reply 1 (05 August 2024) Haha. First of all it is not a caravan, it is a motorhome (a camper) and as any vehicle I can park everywhere where it is allowed. You forgot to mention that when I came to see the policemen (they did not asked me to come, I came when I saw them) you said couple times and I quote: "everything is OK, don`t come to the police". I came only to be greeted by the police and to tell me they were there, because of a report by the owner, but he (in this case you) has no rights and I should enjoy my stay. I insisted that the police explain to you in English and in Greek the rules and they confirmed that they already told you that you are not in your right. Also you forgot to tell the police that the whole area is your property? Why? Why you forgot to mention this lie too? The police was very clear and wished me good day. But may be I should speak with the revenue agency now, because two days prior I came by a sailing yacht to see the same group of friends, you remember that? We had the same awful experience and paid cash, but got no receipt. After that I start paying with card, so you can finally start to pay your taxes. So how many gipsies you know that came to your restaurant by 100k motorhome and 500k sailing yacht? But go on, continue to dig the bottom, let you audience decide who is telling the truth, because I am here with my name, my profile and you are blaming me for all your bad reviews in the past. Go on, the reviewers should see how you...
Read moreThe owner is very rude and inhospitable almost like he didn't care if you were even there. He would take ages to get anything done. Reservation we waited 15 mins before anyone was even available to speak to. The owner talks with a bad manner and impudently. He looks like he is always in a bad mood. He also complains about everything the customers do constantly running around telling people off. His servers are also children?
Food takes way longer than it should (water would take 30 minutes) with with a very stupid room system when ordering that they messed up every day (which you would also have to wait half an hour before they come take your order). Along with that the restaurant is crawling with flies, wasps and mosquitos. Overall you would wait over an hour to two hours for your food which was nothing special but mediocore at best
The pool is extremely dirty. Wasps, bugs leaves and sand everywhere. And the worst part the pool water is cloudy and yellow. It also has no life guard.
The location is pretty good given that it is right next to the beach but it is a 20 minute walk to the closest town.
Rooms aren't anything special however the room service is practically non-existent coming whenever at the most impractical times of day and not everyday but 2 or 3 times per week. The rooms seem to be constantly dirty and they also have extremely thin walls where you can hear everything around you.
The beach is half and half rock and sand meaning it hurts to walk on and when you go in the sea it is a massive slippery rock that covers the floor that cuts your feet with the occasional sea urchin. The hotel does come with a complementary umbrella.
There is slow cell service in the area which wouldn't be a problem if the WiFi wasnt horrendous as it does not working any where in the hotel leaving you stuck on roaming with the unreliable cell service.
This hotel is a MUST avoid. Everything from the pool to the restaurant is bang out of order. Thanks to the owner for helping me out showing what he is like calling me a gypsy for something I wasn't involved in and displaying his disgusting attitude (you can read what happened with the camper van on another person's review)
No one is ruining your business as much as you with this embarrassing behaviour.
Update: he has now changed his reply removing the insults after...
Read moreVery rude owner. He didn't want to show us the rooms until we payed in full for the 5 nights we booked. He wanted to cancel our reservation and keep the 400 euro we payed in advance (we booked 3 rooms + 1 appartment).
Poor daily cleaning. In 5 nights they changed the towels once and removed the trash twice. Once I refused the service because the kids were sleeping.
Poor general cleaning. I dropped something under bed and there was a lot of dust, sand and hair. Since we check în on May 1 and I doubt there were any customers earlier, I bet they never clean there (and the bed had pretty tall legs- a vacuum cleaner and also a mop would fit in).
Also it was pretty cold in the rooms so we tried to use the AC unit but it was making a terrrible noise every 5-10 minutes - we actually couldn't sleep with it. Also the walls were pretty thin (we could hear when the guests near us used the bathroom).
In our 2 rooms appartment - one room had AC, view, big bathroom, kitchinette and the other had TV and a bathroom so small that the door almost touch the toilet when open).
The hot water didn't run at the night time in the bathrooms and didn't run at all at the kitchinette.
Maybe these don't seem to be big problems but I went there with 2 small kids (both under 2 years old) and, beside the rudeness of the owner, I really would have needed the heat to work, the hot water to run (I had a lot of bottles to clean for the baby), and to be clean since my toddler spends a lot of time on the floor playing.
On the bright side, the view is great and the location is pretty good. And the deluxe room (1 of the 4 we had) was big and nice.
If we wouldn't have lost the advance, we would have choose...
