Discovery Hotel — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

We headed to Thassos without pre-arranged accommodation, believing that in September it would be easy to find it. It was a BIG mistake, everything was fully booked and prices were high! So finally after checking out many bad places we ended up in this hotel - and it was like oasis comparing to many others. Our friends were already there for couple of days, having great fun on a pool during BBQ nights. ||||Moment after we met our smiling host already felt better. She gave us big two bedroom apartment with a discount price, for which we could get only one room in other places. This family hotel is newly renovated (2017) and all feels fresh with contemporary design elements and colors. Atmosphere is positive and warm, nice lounge area overlooking the pool. Pool area is very clean, with comfortable seating and always with great music playing - very nice environment for a night swim and a drink. Rooms are cozy, we had two big terraces, and bathroom is also comfortable enough. Towels are replaces every second or third day, and room was cleaned every day while we were on the beach. As usually i have to work during my holidays, finally internet was flawlessly fast, actually faster and more reliable than any place in Greece we went before. Only downside is a lack of storage space, but thats generally a problem in Thassos. ||||Big supermarket is just behind a hotel, which is a important as there are not many in this area. Limenaria beach is few minutes walk away, unfortunately we never visited as we were checking out other cool places on island. Most of the days we spend on Trypiti beach where we found our perfect spot, and its just 5 minutes away by car (2-3km). ||Limenaria center and shopping area is 10 minutes walking away, there is bakery shop near and other necessities. ||||Unfortunately two days before we left Thassos I lost my wallet with all money and credit cards, and we ended up without a single euro on sunday morning! VERY bad experience when you are with a family, there was no chance we could get any money as western union did not work. Our lady host and her son turned out as saviours, they offered big support while we were looking for documents on other part of island, and finally they landed us pretty big amount of money so we could get back home without delay. ||||Big thanks again to everybody from a hotel, we had a great holiday and finally relaxed! We stayed in this hotel 7 days ago. We were informed that there is alailable wi-fi in whole hotel. Thid is apsolutly not true. If some of the gests of hotel is haveing lap top nobody else can get the conection.Tv is also not able to catch any canal if you are in the low part of the hotel. This is where our run was, so we werent able to watch tv at all because of the wery bad picture. When I asked the receptionist who is also the wife of the hotels owner she said that we dont have wi-fi in our rooms because it is in the lower part of the hotel. When I couldnt catch the signal in the lobi, she said that all of this is - MY PROLBEM! It is very clean because the woman who is sleaning is doing hear job great, but she sometimes cleans the rooms at 14pm when my little child sleeps.All of the room are diffent, kitchen is old, with different dishes.I wanted to ask something the owner of the hotel but he wasnt in the mood to talk, I only asked...

Bei der Unterkunft handelt es sich um zwei Einheiten. Wir hatten im August die Wohnung im Erdgeschoss für 5 Tage angemietet. Ich habe vor der Buchung angerufen und gesagt, dass wir zwei kleine Kinder haben und Sie meinten das sei überhaupt kein Problem zwecks krach, Lärm etc. Bei der Buchung und bis zur Ankunft waren alle sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Als wir ankamen mussten wir den Schlüssel an einem Hotel abholen und den Restbetrag (Anzahlung erfolgte vorher) bezahlen. Das kenne ich so nicht. Für mich ist es normal, dass man bei Abreise zahlt. Die Unterkunft hat einen wundervollen Außenbereich mit sehr vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten, Schaukeln, Hängematten etc. Als wir die Wohnungstür öffneten kam uns ein eigenartiger Sandgeruch entgegen, der wohl aus dem Bad kam. Die Küche sah sehr abgenutzt aus, der Wasserhahn spritzte in alle Richtungen, eine Steckdose im Bad war locker und konnte samt Dose raus gezogen werden. Außerdem war in der Schlafcouch eine riesen Mulde ohne Federung. Insgesamt sah die Wohnung nicht wirklich gereinigt aus. Am zweiten Tag kam eine Dame mit einer halbvollen Flasche Schnaps in der Hand vorbei. Sie war wohl für die Unterkunft zuständig. Ihr haben wir dann die Sachen gezeigt und gesagt, dass die Wohnung komisch riecht. Außerdem habe ich ihr gesagt, dass die Bewertung von 9,6 alles andere als zutreffend ist. Ihre Antworten waren dann so was von unverschämt. Zum Geruch meinte sie, dass wir wohl was an der Nase hätten. Und zum Rest sagte sie, dass es jetzt Ende der Saison sei (Saison geht von Mai bis Ende September) und das es normal sei, dass manche Sachen abgenutzt sind. Des Weiteren meinte Sie, dass einige Sachen erst jetzt passiert sind, sie hat die Vormieter quasi dafür verantwortlich gemacht. Am Ende meinte Sie dann noch wir kommen hier für 5 Tage her und tun so als würden wir die Wohnung kaufen. Der Hammer war als Sie dann gefragt hat, ob unser Haus in Deutschland besser aussehen würde. Als Sie gegangen ist hat Sie einige Spielsachen und eine zerkleinerte Scheibe Brot im Garten liegen sehen. Dazu meinte Sie, dass die Kinder den Garten verwüstet hätten. Nachdem Sie gegangen ist haben wir Sie dann noch ein paar mal gesehen ohne dass Sie uns gegrüßt hat. Am Abreisetag haben wir den Schlüssel im Hotel abgegeben und sind ohne Kommentar gegangen.
