The older receptionist was exceptionally rude and has no idea how to treat paying customers. After staying there for five days, we let a friend of ours (who was also a paying customer staying in the hotel) stay in our room for five minutes on the last day when we were packing and an angry woman came up to the room to knock on the door and told us âitâs against the hotelâs policy.â
She told my mother off rudely for letting another paying guest in her room, and then asked if sheâs âstaying in the roomâ. Check out was at 12. This was at 11.30 so my mother was entitled to stay for another 30 minutes. The room had also already been tidied away, so towels and sheets were removed from the room before we checked out. What if we wanted to take a nap before leaving?
Not that it would have mattered otherwise, but when we first checked-in after check-in had started, one of the rooms still wasnât ready and there was no apology or offer to rectify this in any way. Yet, the behaviour by the older receptionist afterwards was arrogant.
EDITED TO ADD: Just saw the hotel's response. This is a very strange policy that doesn't exist in most other hotels and wasn't publicised anywhere in the hotel. To give you an example, we were a family of five in two separate rooms in the same hotel. By their logic, we couldn't possibly go between the two rooms.
We frequently went between the rooms with or without other family members present, so I question the hotel's ability to actually implement this so called "policy" that was invented on the last day. It would be strange to ask reception for permission anytime I needed to grab something from my mom's room, for instance, or ask my mom to come with me.
But even if we accept this is an actual "policy", I maintain the delivery of this policy was exceptionally rude, and my father heard the exchange and couldn't believe the tone of the receptionist who was clearly angry we didn't check out early (he was in the bathroom at the time and could not respond). The hotel needs to do better with publicising their "policies" and listen to its customers' concerns.
Also, I am not sure why the response mentioned sharing "amenities". None of the visitors to the rooms shared sheets, towels, etc.
The situation was as follows: our friends had checked out from the SAME HOTEL a couple of hours earlier than they could have. Their little girl (5) needed the bathroom. The beach bathroom at the hotel's bar was exceptionally dirty. We let the little girl use the bathroom in my mom's room for exactly 5 minutes to prevent her from being exposed to the dirty bathroom in the beach bar attached to the hotel. This led to exceptionally rude and accusatory behaviour from the receptionist.
It's one thing to have a policy, it's another not to publicise it, and it's another entirely to act in an arrogant and rude manner towards your guests. How we construed it is exactly how...

However Sofiaâs son and husband are so aggressive, disrespectful and quarrelsome types. I had an argument with one of the employees, he said âif you're not sitting on those sun-beds you shouldn't occupy them." Even though we were hotel guests and spend money day and night constantly, and we were waiting for the keys to our new room in order to be changed rooms. We warned the disrespectful employee and complained to Sofia, but he kept bringing it up. Despite being warned by his boss, he came to us and started saying the same things. When I told him to go and tell his boss, he didn't want to come. I gently grabbed his arm and said, "Let's go." He started making a fuss, saying, "You can't hit me," "You can't assault me," and he reported me to Sofia's husband and son, who then yelled and insulted me rudely. Even Sofia couldn't stop them. The bottom line is, this establishment is hard to run with these two disrespectful men. There's no guarantee that any guest will be treated with respect. Therefore, even though I love Sofia and Elisevat, I recommend staying away from this...
