Thalassa Taverna Resturant — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

During my recent trip abroad, I experienced a highly disrespectful and upsetting situation. As soon as it became clear that I was Turkish, the staff’s attitude changed dramatically and became blatantly rude. Despite the fact that many tables were clearly empty and had no “reserved” signs, they insisted that all were taken, and refused to accommodate us.

This behavior deeply upset me, especially in front of my family. While I want to emphasize that I hold many of my Greek friends in high regard and do not generalize, I must point out that discriminatory and racist behavior harms the reputation of any society far more than it harms the individuals targeted.

Such actions are unacceptable and leave a negative impression on visitors. I hope the responsible parties reflect on this and take the necessary steps to ensure respectful and fair treatment for all guests, regardless of their...

We were nicely accompanied by the staff, it wasn't too crowded and we got a nice table. We had white house wine which was ok and pretty affordable and a stuffed eggplant with feta and tomato for appetizers which was also fine. After that came the steamed mussels which had no taste at all - not even sure how that is possible, watery and not salty at all. We also had a "seafood risotto" that was basically just bland white rice with two pieces of mussels and two pieces of shrimp - no taste at all. After we said we weren't satisfied the waiter brought us a portion of fried calamari and a portion of grilled shrimp on the house. Calamari was ok, but the shrimp tasted funny and it felt like it's been sitting around for too long, definitely not fresh...

The night ended with both of us having stomach troubles and my gf almost puking. 😐

We have followed the reccomedation from tripadvisor, and definetelly this place is more crowdy than others near by. Staff is not friendly but rather pushy and loud. The first concern was when we have ordered one salad and the guy told us that he do not reccomend it. The zuccini was sold out so at the end we have ordered by his reccomendation. Salad and drinks were delivered fast but for the main courses we have waited for more than a hour. In one moment the guy told us that he is sorry but that we are 60th in a row that night. Finally, when our kids start literally to cry we had received the fried squids which we could not chew, sea bass was smelly and not taste well, but luckily the reccomended salad was ok. I do not reccomend this tavern at all, very unprofessional staff and food...
