Booked this pension through booking.com. The booking was confirmed just go be called out of the blue by the owner asking us cancel my reservation because it was already booked but they conveniently "forgot to update the availability" on booking. He also mentioned that he may have two rooms for our group, if we are interested, however they come at a bigger price. We had no problem canceling from our side, however, that would imply a 110 euros cancelation fee (remember that THEY asked us to cancel in the first place) and I kindly asked him to cancel it (I guess it will imply additional cost on his side or some sort of penalty) but he was adamant that he can't. I made a case with booking when they kindly asked to waive the cancelation fee, which they refused. ||||Don't be fooled by the dreamy pictures. They will try to extort money out of your pockets, for no particular reason. ||||This sounds like a typical scam from a scumbag owner.||||Reviewing Google reviews turns out that he tried it again 2 months ago, with the same scheme to another person who had the intuition to call before (I was fooled by the good reviews and trusted in this host, big mistake)||||Maybe this happened because the reservation was done by my partner who is Turkish, maybe he's just racist. Maybe he did it because he saw a woman doing the reservation and thought they are more gullable.||||I will probably pay the cancellation fee and try to recover the miney from Booking.com (unlikely) ||||Avoid this place and save yourself the headache. This host will try to exploit you and...
Read moreWe have encountered the same issue that mrs Ursulescu encountered, though we did not have the feminine intuition she had unfortunately, we booked the reservation through Booking.com just to be contacted by the Owned to say that "The room is already booked but we forgot to take it down from booking.com". Please cancel it (There is a 110 euro cancelation fee).
They then tried to "upsale" two separate rooms (which came at a higher cost). I opened a case to booking.com to make them wave the cancelation fee. Why should I need to pay 110 euros because they "forgot" to take it down. Booking.com then came back saying that obviously they omitted to mention that the so called upgrade was ~200 euros more expensive.
The owner is clearly trying to scam people out of money. Funny how it seems to happen only when women try to book the property, or maybe it is a case of racism, my partner having a Turkish name. All in all, I'll probably pay the 110 Euros and try to recover it from booking (unlikely).
Stay away from these scammers, save yourselves...
Read moreWe (two adults and a 3 year-old child) stayed in Pension Ageri in the first half of July. The first impression was that it has perfect location, namely it is literary 10-20 meters away from the beach, parking, super market, restaurants, bakery....and what is the most important there is no noise at all. We stayed in the apartment no. 6 on the ground floor (two bedrooms + kitchenette), which is spacious, well kept, with standard equipment you will find in most apartments in Greece. Nikos and Eleni are really nice people, ready to help and advise at any moment. The somehow manage to be always at your service, although you do not see them :)) . Since we were on the ground floor, we did not have a balcony, but could use the garden with a nicest view you can imagine and a lots of shade. This was actually convenient since we traveled with a 3-year-old who could play in the garden. To cut the long story short, you should not think twice before booking the Pension Ageri for your...
