Porta Del Mar Beach Villas — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

I stayed at Porta del Mar with my Fiancé for 6 days at the beginning of October. A small part of me does not want to leave this review… as I want to keep this place a secret for me and the people who know it! But this would be doing the owners and the staff a huge injustice.|Porta Del Mar is 10/10 in every aspect. The place is located in a beautiful spot with amazing views. On a clear day you can even see the beautiful island of Kefalonia. The apartments/villas are spacious, clean and very well finished. Our room had a beautiful view of the pool and the sea. The beds are big, luxurious and comfy. Daily maid service allows for the rooms to stay fresh and feeling brand new. The pool and surrounding area is incredibly picturesque and clean. |The food at Porta del Mar is probably the best on the island. The restaurant menu is extensive and covers all needs. The quality of the food matches those of the highest grade and you don’t actually need to eat anywhere else on the island if you choose to stay here. Breakfast is also great, with a good selection of hot and cold food to suit all needs in a buffet style. And all the while you get to enjoy this food with absolutely breathtaking views.|What makes Porta Del Mar so special is the people who work there. This place has a wonderful, family-run atmosphere that I really hope they carry forward even with the inevitable success they are going to have. The staff go above and beyond in every aspect. Pavlina and her husband, who built and own the hotel are so friendly and wonderful. They showed us around the whole place on our first day. Myrto (daughter of pavlina) and Costas then continued to help us throughout our stay and were so helpful and kind with all recommendations on the island. And then there was Anna and the rest of the staff at Porta del Mar who were impeccable in their service to a 5* standard. From the owners, to the bar staff, to the maids… everyone here works extremely hard and makes your stay perfect. On a side note, I would recommend wine tasting with Costas who is extremely knowledgable and a great host!|All in all this hotel is a little paradise in Zakynthos that any person, couple or family would be a fool to miss out on! We will certainly be returning here in the future....

We have just returned from the most beautiful holiday at Porta del Mar. It perfectly combines luxury and authenticity. It is family run and everyone works so hard to ensure you have the best experience possible. We have 2 small children and it was so wonderful to experience such a beautiful part of the world together. It’s a world away from your standard package holiday which is exactly what we wanted. The pool is stunning with a smaller shallower pool next to it which was perfect for our 2 year to splash around in. ||There is a small beach at the bottom of the cliff and you can walk across to a slightly larger beach through the shallow sea which was fun! There is also a lovely Taverna above the larger beach which does traditional Greek food should you wish to have a bit of a change but the food and drink at Porta del mar is also wonderful and we enjoyed mixing it up a bit. The sea is crystal clear and warm! ||The area is quiet and you can walk in to a slightly busier area in about 10-15mins but it’s still quiet and not too touristy. We loved that we were away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist resort as we always find these areas disappointing and lacking in the beauty of the traditional and authentic Greece but at Porta del Mar and around we felt we could take in Greece in all its beauty with an added touch of luxury! We hired a car on one day and the owner sorted it all for us totally hassle free. We went to a water park and then to Zakynthos old town and it was great to explore knowing we had our beautiful sanctuary to return to.||The scenery is breath taking and the whole place is just magical.
