Global Airport Inn — Hotel in Guatemala City

I was put in a tiny room with no windows or air circulation, which smelled strongly of chlorine(?!) Actually there was a window, and it faced right into what looked like a janitor supply closet - talk about nice view.

There was a massive cockroach in the toilet when I first got there.

And also the room was right next to the kitchen, which meant I was awoken from people having breakfast at like 6am. Sounds continued until like 8. Not fun given that I got in late night.

Maybe other rooms are better? Don’t wanna generalize but personally did not enjoy my experience.

The room also just didn’t look… clean. Like it didn’t look like it was properly cleaned or something - looked lived in in a way you don’t want for a “inn” room.

We received a warm welcome from the staff. Got a nice clean room, a bathroom with good water pressure, kitchen facilities if you want to warm water or make a cuppa. Got a packed breakfast with a fruit drink and sandwich. We were to leave at 3:30 am and a cab was waiting for us to drop us off at the airport, even though we didn’t make a specific request for it.

The staff is super friendly and kind. We requested them if they can keep the luggage for us while we tour the city for few hours and they readily agreed, even though this request was made after 2 days after...

We booked to be near the airport and just have a nice nights sleep before an early flight, unfortunately the room we were has an unsealed part of the wall, meaning we had mosquito's in the room all night. We asked to change room, were declined due to availability, we asked for a refund (even just 50%), were declined because the owner is horrid. We left at 230am after little to no sleep to rest better in the airport. Imagine.
