Disappointing Experience at Aurora Airport, Guatemala.

As a frequent traveler, I've experienced airports of varying standards worldwide, but my recent visit to Aurora Airport in Guatemala left much to be desired. From the moment I stepped foot in the terminal, it was evident that the facility was plagued by issues of cleanliness, disorganization, and a lack of basic amenities.

Upon arrival, the state of disarray was immediately apparent. The airport lacked proper maintenance, with trash littering the floors and bathrooms in dire need of cleaning. It was disheartening to witness such neglect, especially in a facility meant to serve as the gateway to a country as beautiful as Guatemala.

Adding to the frustration was the apparent lack of efficiency and friendliness among the airport staff. Despite being in need of assistance, I found them unhelpful and unwelcoming, which only added to the overall unpleasant experience.

Perhaps the most concerning aspect was the absence of air conditioning in a country known for its tropical climate. The stifling heat inside the terminal made waiting for my flight incredibly uncomfortable, and I couldn't help but feel concerned for the well-being of elderly passengers and young children subjected to such conditions. Overall, my experience at Aurora Airport fell far short of expectations. For a country with so much to offer tourists, it's disappointing to see such neglect at its primary gateway. Improvements in cleanliness, organization, staff training, and the installation of proper amenities like air conditioning are urgently needed to enhance the travel experience and leave visitors with a more favorable impression of Guatemala.

Additionally, I would like to advise fellow travelers planning to depart from or arrive at Aurora Airport in Guatemala to complete the online customs form in advance. This will streamline your experience and save time during the airport process. You can access the form using the link: https://farm2.sat.gob.gt/declaDelViajeroGt-web/pages/public/declaracionViajero.jsf#no-back-button. By filling out the form ahead of time, you can avoid unnecessary delays and ensure a smoother transition through customs and...

Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora in Guatemala City is a traveler's gateway to this vibrant Central American destination. I had the opportunity to experience this airport recently, and I must say it left a positive impression. One of the standout features of this airport is its convenient proximity to the city, making it exceptionally accessible for travelers.

Arriving at Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the airport is conveniently situated near the heart of Guatemala City. This means that getting from the airport to the principal hotels and shopping centers in the city is a breeze. In fact, it's incredibly easy to catch an Uber or other transportation options right outside the terminal, ensuring a smooth transition from your flight to your desired destination. This convenience is a major advantage, especially for those who want to minimize travel time and begin exploring the city immediately.

The airport itself is clean and well-maintained, with friendly and helpful staff to assist travelers. Immigration and customs procedures are typically efficient, and the baggage claim area is organized and hassle-free. While waiting for your flight, you'll find a decent selection of shops, restaurants, and cafes to keep you entertained and well-fed.

One minor drawback is that the airport can become quite crowded during peak travel times, so it's a good idea to arrive early to avoid any potential stress. However, this is a common issue at many international airports and not exclusive to Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora.

In conclusion, Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora offers a convenient and hassle-free entry point to Guatemala City. Its proximity to the city, along with the availability of services like Uber, greatly enhances the travel experience. While it may not be the largest or most extravagant airport, it fulfills its role as a gateway efficiently, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to those looking to explore the captivating city...

Do not fly with Spirit Airlines. The General manager here with Spirit Armando is the worst to provide you service. This guy once wanted to charge a prepaid carry on as a check in. I was with spirit customer service. And he was called on it. Customer service rep helped over his abuse. Most recent trip I had a priority boarding. I went to him and told me to towards end of line. My rating is towards the airline spirit and Armando Del Cid. General manager of spirit at Guatemala. He shortly cancelled my flight after I started taking few pics. He said I needed his permission but he had no privacy in public area at gate. At least security informed do that it was not a restricted area. Don't do business with spirit when travelling to or from Guatemala. This guy Armando Del Cid general manager of spirit doesn't represent the Guatemalan spirit. Guatemala has great people when it comes to service. Armando Del CID is not one of them and recommend Spirit Airlines replace him with someone that leans towards customer service. If you have priority boarding like zone 1. They should have honored it and not put you behind zone 3 or 4. Put your money on different airline. He actually took pictures and wondering if it's against Spirit airlines for it's employees to take picture of customers.

I later booked with Jet Blue. I can say they had a much more pleasant experience. If you have choice go with Jet Blue. Much better seats. The people were also fine outside of spirit.

Don't do business with Spirit at this airport. You have Avianca, Jet Blue, Aero Mexico. Spirit is the worst. If they are thieves and manipulate people. They should not be not operating in Guatemala. Stay away from Spirit Airlines. Unfortunately Armando del Cid is a theif that will steal your money. He doesn't like transparency. Any issues file a complaint directly with company and DOT if company fails to handle properly. Get some witness if you can because...

Nothing fancy but a nice small airport to fly to Guatemala City or many other places.
