A good thing to know before getting here is that the place is not within walking distance of any cooked food (restaurants, street food etc). You have to cook or grab a tuktuk to town for that (takes about a 5 min for 5 quetzales). Another good thing to know is that they add an extra tax-fee of 10% upon arrival (on the site where we booked we weren't informed about this!). ||We also booked a room with two dubble beds, but got one queen size and one bunk bed..? When we pointed this out to the staff (aswell as the strangeness of the extra fee) they just said that everything was in order and that there was not a real problem for them to solve. We were just too tired to argue and helt it back, but apparentley the customer is not always right or even remotley so acording to bungalows dos americas. ||So now to what really made our stay less nice, besides the overcharging and less than what we paid for-standard of the room, was the noises ALL night long and the light leaking in through the window.||We got a room with the window facing the street outside and it didn't keep sounds out at all. We would hear the neighbours dogs fighting and barking, people seeming to be having a party in the middle of the night and the traffic just as well as if there hadn't been a glass in the window at all. And let me tell you, I am not a light sleeper, but I still woke up from this!||They hade also arranged the furniture so nicely so that the first light of the day would land directly in your eyes, at least if you sleep with your head on the pillow. It goes without saying that the curtains didn't block light out that well and also made a gap in the worst place possible (we tried go move them a bit, but they just fell back to their original possition).||Another thing. All of the nights we stayed there there were cockroaches in our room that we hade to kill with our flip flops. A nice late night activity on your holidays! (Being ironic obviously.)||I don't know. I didn't really like one bit of this hotel. There are probably better options for accomodation...

Read moreThe hosts Vickie and Oscar are very accommodating and the prices can't be beat. I have stayed there three times. For a single person the price is approximately $58.00USD for one week or $192.00 per month. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the center of town, but If you prefer to ride a moto-taxi is about $.40 USD. The hotel is small 8 or 9 rooms, but they do have small color televisions and Wi-Fi. For the budget traveler this a great bargain. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped with pots, pans, silverware and dishes. I recommend the place as a hidden gem without luxury. ||Another benefit is that you are given both a key to the main gate and to your room which affords one...
