We chose this hotel to enjoy a weekend in Hungary. Unfortunately, it was the first time we traveled to the neighboring country and our expectations were disappointed (we have been traveling abroad since 1996). Very briefly, what could be better: 1. PARKING - because on Friday evening there was a private event in the hotel and those guests came there with their cars, those of us who were accommodated and arrived later in the afternoon apparently did not get any more places; at the suggestion of the receptionist we finally parked on the property, but in a place where the car was not safe; 2. NOISE - on the first night we could not rest because of a constant noise produced by the air passing through a pipe in front of the balcony of room 212 - at the reception we were told that we could only change our room the next day because there were no others available; regarding the noise - any movement in the hallway or in the neighboring rooms could be heard quite loudly and was disturbing; in the morning you had no chance of sleeping until at least 9 am because the cleaners were talking loudly and manipulating utensils noisily; 3. THE MASSAGE (we were fooled about the massage) - at the SPA we specifically asked before making the appointments whether the massage offered was a relaxing one or a bit stronger and we were told that it was therapeutic and that it felt intense... we felt more like a kind of caress than a massage (the staff would have liked to know at least a basic level of English or German); 4. at the SPA when I went on Saturday evening I couldn't enter the Finnish sauna because a "special program" was taking place and it was released when it was already time to go to dinner; 5. DINNER - the food was good, but it seems that not even a glass of water was included in the price, any drink had to be paid extra... I don't understand why water or tea are not included, I have never seen this at any other accommodation before; 6. ENTERTAINMENT GAMES - there are advertisements for the London bar inside the hotel throughout the hotel, but when we went to book we were told that everything was full (darts, billiards, bowling), that they were occupied by people from outside the hotel... I think that here the guests should have priority and then the others from outside; 7. STAFF ATTITUDE - upon departure, apart from issuing our bill, we did not receive any questions or forms related to how we felt as guests... and there were only us at the reception along with the 2 receptionists. Being the optimistic type we are, we tried to make the most of this situation and enjoy this relaxing getaway. It's a shame that the location has potential but is poorly managed, with no focus on customer satisfaction. What we liked: 1. The food, especially the breakfast, very rich in options and with quality products. 2. The location is very close to the center (15min to the castle) and is in a quieter area. 3. The room and bathroom were clean and didn't smell bad (although the facilities are not exactly new). 4. The SPA wasn't that crowded, especially in the evening before closing. Despite the hotel's potential, poor management and lack of customer focus diminished the experience. We made the best of it, but...
Read moreHad business in the region and needed a comfortable hotel to come back and relax - Eger & Park was the perfect choice. The hotel is located close to the centre (5-10 minutes walk) and offers ample parking space for those come by car. We had a park suite, consisting of a spacious anteroom, a sleeping room to the right of the anteroom and another living/sleeping room straight through/to the left of the anteroom. One sleeping room had an ensuite bathroom with a sauna (works up to about 70C) and a jacuzzi like hottub, the other part of the suite had a living room with a sofa from where you could walk into the sleeping room/area separated from the living room by an archlike walkthrough. That sleeping room's bathroom had a pleasant shower. All rooms had one or two windows, so there was enough light in the room during the day. All facilities were in great state, and the style was kept in the entire building's baroque one. The other part of the hotel is more modern and dates back to the 80s, but is well maintained and does not have a feeling of being worn out at all.||The spa area is great - three pools plus a small pool for kids (rectractable roof for that one and one of the other pools), with two of the pools having spa features, the third one being more like a pool for swimming only. There are also a sauna (excellent), steam bath, a salt and aroma room - a lot fo space for everybody, with the option to sit outside, too. ||Breakfast and dinner are in the park-facing area in the old part of the hotel, and you can choose between two indoor rooms and one outdoor area. Everything is buffet-only and eat as much as you can, with food being restocked properly. Juices from the machine are free of charge, so is still water. Beverages in general are of moderate pricing (this is true for the bar adjacent to the lobby with a see through window into a playing room for kids), so no need to hold back there.||Staff are very friendly and hospitable - but this is "normal" in Hungary, and no matter the question, they are always willing to help and assist. Overall, it was an ideal choice, and we will certainly come back...
Read moreSleepover on 2/3 August 2025. Room is very big and clean, but it needed to be checked for some repairs in bathroom and not all the lights are working. Restoraunt took a long walk through labirint but it is all well marked so you won't get lost and during the stroll you'll get feeling that you're in somebodys' mansion, not the hotel which is very good. What I found very bad is that personel is little bit below other places in foreign langueages. Recepcionist had a little bit of struggle to axplain, and charry on top happened during the dinner. Only one table was unattended and there were plates and glasses frpm previous guests. Three waitresses were talking to each other and disregarding my signals although they were looking in my direction. After i was tired of waiting and my "Excuse me" not too loud but enough to got their attention, oldest among them quickly came to us and, although I was asking her in English, said something on Hungarian which is, without doubt with that tone of voice, curse. Little bit after, young waiter approuched asking us if we would like something to drink. We had, three times. Communication and service was above level this time. At the end, hotel that have potential but has to...
