Villa Citadella Wellness Panzió — Hotel in Egri járás

Villa Citadella is 3 star panzió (guest house) marketed as a wellness centre - as such it does a great job. Rooms are spacious, the hotel is clean. Showers excellent. A simple but adequate continental breakfast is included, and the very helpful staff have no problem making an excellent coffee if you ask (but you must ask!).||||The spa are is really good for the size of the hotel - sauna, 2 hot tubs, solar spa, infra red cabin, steam/aroma room and a decent pool - if you are on an active or a business break this is a real bonus.||||Wifi is solid, works throughout the building, and is free. The speed is adequate - perfectly acceptable for email, browsing and light work - not up to streaming movies, but that is fair enough.||||It is a 10 minute walk into the centre (I am sure there are taxis), and it is in a quiet, smart area but it is up a hill - be warned.||||The pillows and bedding are standard for such hotels and I know some UK visitors, me included, may not find them ideal, but if that is the only issue I can think of this place cannot be bad! this is a more of a pensione than a hotel. there were no staff members there when we arrived. fortunately, the only other guest staying there was able to help us find our room. we were there 5 nights and never once was the bed made and only once did they provide clean towels. while our room had a lovely view of town, because of the pitched roof, my husband hit his head on the ceiling while getting up from bed -- more than once. our room had a tall bathtub without an adequate shower curtain -- so the bathroom floor got wet after each shower. at least a mop was provided. since the place was deserted much of the day, i took a peek at the other rooms. the others had shower stalls. and luggage shelves. our room was large and had a view, but we would have liked a better bathroom and a place to put luggage. breakfast was just adequate. the staff, when present, were pleasant. they would turn on the sauna if we requested it. the hotel is on a hill, so there is a steep walk coming...

We had a bit of holiday so we have chosen to take a tour of northern Hungary.Eger seemed a good place to stay and as we are with small kids, spa and pool is always a plus. ||There is where we got disappointed. The water of the pool was so cold that we could not use it. All others were functioning though. IN the spa there is a salt room, aroma room, 2 saunas and a bubble pool. Goodies :-)||We took a room on the top floor, with city view. The view is amazing either night or day. ||The surroundings are very quiet. Good place for rest. IN the summer guests can use the patio and bbq in the front of the villa. ||Breakfast is average, for people who eat everything. You have to ask for coffee.||||The Eger castle is in...
