Pension Illaberek — Hotel in Egri járás

We were making our way from Romania to Budapest and looking for somewhere to visit and decided on Eger. In our search for accommodation we came across Illaberek Panzio and sent a question via their website with little hope for a response (we find most of these contact forms don't work) to our surprise Rita wrote straight back and was a wealth of information and offered to pick us up from the train station.||We were so impressed with everything, Rita was lovely, spoke perfect English, happily chatted to us about a variety of topics.||She gave us a better room (they are all nice), which was a nice size with private bathroom and constant hot water in the shower.||There is plenty of common areas to relax in, a communal kitchen, tea and coffee, and free wifi. The perfect place for long term travellers like ourselves and all at a very reasonable rate.||Location is in the hills above the town, its a very nice neighbourhood and a short walk to town, although the mobility challenge might find it too much.||Eger was a lovely town to spend a few days in and after sight seeing sip a few bulls...

The owner of this pension couldn't have been friendlier and more willing to help. Unfortunately, the place itself was more bare-bones than I expected from reviews and it felt more like a hostel than a B & B. Rooms could have been cleaner, the towels didn't smell totally clean, and a little bit more effort all around would make it much nicer.
