Kristály Imperial Hotel — Hotel in Tatai járás

Absolutely terrible. We were invited to a wedding and the venue was recommended. Warning to all planning weddings in Tata. This is not a 4 start hotel.

We booked a superior room because the basic room beds are 140 cm wide. We got a big bed in the superior. Be warned: In summer the thermostats goes as low as 18 degrees and no lower. We opened our window for the evening air... spiders and spider webs everywhere, and yes I screamed like a little girl. After a mass termination, we suffered the first night in Hungarian summer heat because the air con made so much noise like a motocycle and we had our window closed.

Morning my husband had a cold shower, I went second with a hot shower that mid -way turned to cold water. We explained to the reception our problem, to my opinion, they looked at me like she did not care and asked I to change rooms. I must remind you, we are in 4 star hotel in a superior room.

Breakfast , the coffee machine died but we were not alarmed as the coffee was horrible. We sat by the window of the breakfast room and were met with more Aranea, their air-breathing arthropods that have eight legs and chelicerae with fangs able to inject venom. And unfortunate to the hotel we had an army of friends and family at the wedding who protested the same discomfort of their rooms, air-con and cleanliness.

So we kindly asked to not change rooms as it would only inconvenience us as we had a wedding the at the same time they wanted to move us.

To return at 2 am in the morning, with the same spider friends and cobwebs at our ONLY window. No one had taken our issue seriously. I gave up and slept with my new spider friends in a 4 star hotel with the worst air conditioner, a hot and cold shower and checking out so early at full price, no apologies and literally being kicked out of breakfast with a sympathetic apology a vacuum cleaner.

Please note that if you order at their restaurant in hotel there is a 15% service change which is unheard of in Hungary.

Brides book if you have to, guests stay somewhere else where you will pay less for the same terrible experience.

In high note: I enjoyed my massage from the therapist who came specially for me in the evening. He was very good and we enjoyed getting to enjoy the family and friends at my closets friends wedding.

To conclude: This is my first review ever!! I had to say something because the staff did nothing, absolutely nothing what so ever to make things...

Excellent hotel but Basic Rooms are terrible. -I have had a problem with the Basic rooms in this hotel in general. For this price point, I was expecting something far better quality. I know, it is a basic room, but 100+ EUR per night and for the photos how basic rooms were advertised on the page was unfair and feels a bit of a ripoff When we arrived immediately asked for a new room, but the receptionist told me all basic rooms look like this, will not be different and we are not the first ones who complain about this. If I want something better I must upgrade and pay the difference what was around 50+ EUR per night. The photos here on Booking shows something else. The carpet and the bedsheets were dirty. The lamp was full of dead insects, the room was dark even daylight. Please be aware of this, if you consider basic rooms. I have uploaded some pictures to this review ®- The Hotel and the facilities are amazing. The Wellness is spectacular and we were able to use it even outside of operating hours. The breakfast is good enough, but if you stay longer might be a bit boring after 3 days. The location of the hotel is next to a busyish road, but you can easily walk to the lake nearby. The staff is always helpful, some of the a bit slow:) but hey if you are there for relaxation it should be...

LOCATION- 5/5|AMBIANCE - 3/5|SERVICE- 3/5|FOOD- 3/5|COMFORT- 5/5||This hotel has a great spa, thermal bath room, underground bar and billiard table, a conference room, parking, laundry! They even have a safe in the rooms to keep your valuables. ||We saw two different kinds of rooms and the one we stayed in was single big bed and it was a cramped room, the photos of which I have shared. But I liked the room. It was cozy, the bed was super comfortable and clean and the room had an antiquey feeling to it. The sheets are the softest. Opening the window kept the room cool. But I would say not a good place to stay in summer. The price per night is average. Breakfast options in comparison to 5-7 star hotels wasn't good at all. And if you are a breakfast person I would not suggest to opt for complementary breakfast buffet. But if you are looking for a quick bite, it would be good. Though the variety of teas they offer is incredible. They don't have food served after breakfast till 5pm. The staff is friendly but could be more engaging. The massage lady was very kind and friendly. It was a relaxing Swedish massage. ||So all the major sight-seeing spots are 5 minutes walk away from this hotel. If that's what is the most important factor then go ahead and book your stay...
