We had a really comfortable stay. I don't know how it works for other platforms, but we made the reservations over booking and all the info we needed was forwarded to us the day before via the messages. We checked in relatively late, so it was a self check in and very quick. We got used to taking the shoes off at the entrance at this point😄 in addition you have to make your bed and leave the used sheets in the cleaning baskets when you check out. The kitchen area is quite big and well-equipped. You just need to take whatever you need to eat. There's no foodstuff apart from some salt and sugar. There's a Bonus right around the block, and the centre is not that far really. It's a nice walk down. I guess you all know how expensive the food can get, and unfortunately there aren't many updates menus on Maps. So if you are used to checking the restaurant prices from the menu photos on Google just add a few hundred kronas especially if you see menu photos from 3 months...
Read moreBONUS supermarket is almost across the street from the back parking - 3-5 minute walk. Plenty of parking. The girl at the reception is very nice and helpful - very welcoming. gave us info regarding the city - where to eat - best places to get some booze (bars/pubs) and the best ice cream place in town LOL. The amenities in the hostel is great - fully equipped kitchen. bathrooms and showers were great and clean. Towels were not provided and I believe it costs $5. there is a sink, soap, and mirror in our room it is a 3 bedroom private - nice size spacious and I was shocked there's a TV - but I don't know it has really bad reception or its just normal that English channels suddenly went out - but if you're into Icelandic shows there's plenty of channels. there's a lot of free guides and brochures by the front desk. Oh and LAUNDRY $10 per bag and I believe is a steal! LOL as long as you can fit all those dirty clothes in that bag/sack that they provide. WIFI is...
Read moreGreat staff and excellent value for money ! You can either do self check-in or go to the reception where there is someone most of the time. If no one is at the reception there is a dedicated phone at the front door and someone gives you information 24/24 for checking-in and you can also reach the staff for any information. The staff is genuinely happy to help with check-in, directions, what to do in the city... You dont feel like you're bothering them when asking questions contrary to other hostels. Staff can do laundry, you just have to ask at the reception and they will bring it back to your room clean and dry (cost 1500 ISK, cheaper than most hostels). The rooms are good value for money, it's clean and bed is comfortable. The shower in the private bathroom is not small. The hostel is near main city attractions (10-15 min by foot) but located in a quiet neighborhood with a private parking...
