Lots of pizzas, burgers and cheesy appetizers, along with other mains I didn't look closely at. We had the arctic char with broccoli, which was very good, and a couple pizzas, which were yummy. (Vegan cheese is available, as are bananas as a topping -- that's a new one for me.) Had a couple of delicious dessserts: the apple pie and the incredible warm chocolate cake, each with a small scoop of ice cream and some blueberries and strawberries. A tag team of polite servers helped us, and the kitchen accommodated a couple of substitutions which was very nice. Nice warm ambience. Reasonable prices. Had to ask for the check and paid at the bar.

This is THE place for Plokkfiskur (pictured). If you do not know what it is, please trust this review from a random guy in Texas. It's delicious, filling, and will remind you of every hug you ever got from your grandmother(s) and your favorite blanket growing up. The rye is thick and with homemade salted butter goes great with all the potato/garlic/onion/butter/cheese of the dish (which is more like baked mac & cheese than "stew"). I have been trying to replicate this dish for month after leaving Akureyri. Have with a beer, it's designed that way. The restaurant is upscale and really a nice place for dinner conversation.

They have great pizza! You can get it to your door as well if you want to, but you can also eat it at the restaurant. Greifinn has a tendency to get new owners so their menu changes frequently, but the food is never bad. I've never gotten anything that's downright nasty there and I've been there often :) THEIR CHOCOLATE CAKE IS HEAVENLY 😍 Highly recommend it! And I've had ribs once and they were perfect. They also have great appetizers (garlic pizza, etc.). So if you're going out to eat with friends or family, I'd highly recommend it. It has a cozy atmosphere and it's not too expensive :)

Looks like very popular place among locals, which is usually good sign. Prices are like everywhere in Iceland, for non Scandinavian or Swiss it's really expensive :) for 4 person dinner without alcohol we paid around 250€. We ordered dishes marked as local, cod hash, salted cod and lamb, all dishes were great and really fulfilling. I would say it's highly recommended place ;) by the way from the locals we found out, that they are famous because of their pizza, however we didn't order them, but on other tables pizza's looked nice, as well a lot of people came to take them away.

We had a pleasant night at the Greifinn. Waiting time was 5 Minutes - which was good as it was one of the few restaurants open on the first day of the year. Restaurant has a service bell, you just push the button and genie eh the server appears. Worked well! Waiting time for the food was a bit too long, but to be fair the restaurant was full. Pizza was good, nothing special but ok and crispy. Viking beer was great - that's the local beer from the town and wow - it tastes really good!! Try them both.

About to dine in the restaurant, however, I got blocked by a delivery lorry at the back, hence, unable to move n find parking ! I asked the delivery man to move the lorry so that everyone could pass, he was too ignorant !!! So I did a 3 point turn to turn out. Therefore, I didn't dine in at all. Management, please rectify this issue that the customer is facing.
