Likes : 1) I picked this place to stay just because it is 700m from Taj Mahal. 2) I liked their rooftop cafe with swings and chairs to sunbathe. 3) I also liked the fact that their male staff allowed me to use their room at 6:00 a.m. for 1 hour to change my party dress and get into comfortable wear, without forcing me to checkin. which saved me 300 INR (cost of early checkin). They were quite welcoming. But read on to know why I wont recommend this stay : Now the dislikes : 1) I didn''t really like their in house restaurent on the ground floor - it was way too expensive as compared to roadside stalls outside the hotel. 2) Other thing that I disliked is - the lighting inside the room wasn't good enough, I have an inclination for different kinds of and several yellow and white lightings and lampshades - but this was missing. 3) The mattress wasn't good enough, it was so ordinary. I was shocked to see this hotel had got 3 star rating, the mattress was very much like the single layer one we see in any ordinary guest house. Even bunk beds in dorm have better mattresses. 4) The TV also was so ordinary - box like - that we had in our homes in old days. They should have got Flat screen TV installed. 5) I also didn't like the fact that the lady receptionist there phoned me at 10:30 a.m. and asked "Madam, when would you checkout? we have people checkout by 11:00 - 11:30 a.m." I didn't like this statement of hers because I already seen that the checkout time was mentioned at their reception as 12:00 Noon. I felt that the charm with which they welcome their guests, they don't bid them 'bye' with same respect. So i informed her politely that she shouldn't have said that and then she went all sorry. Since the dislikes are more than the likes, I am definetely not going to book this hotel again. Never.

Description of my experiences at the Taj Plaza evokes nothing but disgust. We booked it for two days. Room service was awfully done. So was cleaning. I will attach the photos to prove how unclean it was. They ensured that they would serve us tea (food) at our room. But we sat there waiting for half an hour. Then reminded them. Nobody came till another half an hour. We reminded them again and 15 minutes a later the tea was provided in two cups, even without any dishes. Rs. 30 a cup! With such poor service. The room they provided us was unclean and there was a cooler in the room clinging to the window. This created a huge gape in between the window glasses and the time being winter, chilly wintry air was coming in the room. So we asked them to change the room. They didn't. Instead, they placed two pillow covers in the gap area and they weren't good enough. We were to leave for sightseeing and they told us to pack our stuff and leave so that they can put our belongings to some other room. We returned at around 8 pm in the night and found that they did nothing. Upon asking them again to place us in a room of equal quality, they showed us a room on the ground floor which was not in a good condition at all. It was even worse. We asked for looking at another room which they denied. So we had to come back to our first room, unpack our bags again.

Dirty room, dirty washroom, broken mobile charge socket. There was only one light such like a dim light. Restaurant is too much expensive. One plate plain rice price is 70 Rs. That rice is not enough for 1 person. Hotel management is also fraud as like as others Agra people. I say Agra is a city of Fraud. Every hotel, restaurants, auto-wala, small businessman each and every one I found fraud and Commission taker. There is a guy name: Bishwam. He claimed that, he is the manager of the hotel. I asked a favour to book my Taj Mahal ticket online. He asked 50 Rs extra as service charge. But when I pay the money he didn’t change 30 Rs. He told "30 Rs is not a big deal. Just forget it". I never seen this type of dishonest and fraud people before. Every autowala tried to convince me to buy Peetha from their specific shop. I asked one autowala to hold on a medium range Muslim restaurant. He goes to a long way and show me a restaurant of highly expensive price. Also he got Commission from the restaurant owner. This auto was hired by the Taj Plaza hotel manager Bishwam. All are frauds in Agra. I never come again here. The city of fraud people.

Don’t ever go in here scammers!! I arrived in Agra with my wife late in afternoon and fancied a beer. Our hotel did not serve alcohol so I went to the street and this hotel over road had a guy standing outside and he said they have beer. I thought ok so followed him in and made way to roof top. Place seemed a bit run down but I don’t mind as long as they got beer. Guy seemed friendly enough and was nice view of Taj Mahal. I ordered one glass of wine for my wife 700 ruppee’s and a kingfisher for myself 550 rupees. Drinks took a while to arrive and guy was talking on about getting a guide and he can do currency exchange. When the drink eventually arrived I noticed something odd that my wife’s drink was already poured and she had not been shown the bottle. He opens the kingfisher which I noticed had front label scratched off and date scratched off. He poured it I took a sip and it was disgusting. I noticed lid to bottle had rust and was also a crack on the bottle. My wife said her wine tasted like a weak apple juice. I was not happy about this as we had been served fake drinks so I told the guy we was leaving and he became argumentative and aggressive. I had to firmly tell him to back off and we are leaving and he was demanding money. We was walking back down the stairs and he was getting really close so I pulled out pepper spray me and my wife was carrying and he stood back and went down stairs. I was cautious as I was with my wife and did not want her in any danger and there was more guys down stairs. We got downstairs and got the hell out of there! Anyone who comes across this place stay away I was only in Agra an hour and this was my first experience of the place with these...
