We had a pleasant stay at the Tajview Agra. This was our second stay at an IHCL property. We had an exceptional stay at The Connaught in Delhi so assumed we’d experience the same at the Tajview since it’s the same classification.
Rooms - we had a junior suite with a pool view. The room was very spacious and appeared well maintained. There are reviews that mentioned that the rooms needed attention but ours (509) was quite nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are large, especially the rainfall shower. There’s plenty of storage as well.
Spa - We had massages at Jiva the day we arrived. The staff were able to squeeze us in for last minute treatments. I had a deep tissue aromatherapy massage by PC and my guest had a therapeutic aromatherapy massage by Bablu. The massage tents are quite large and had steam rooms in them. I was offered a 10 min steam before my massage. PC gave me a truly deep tissue massage which my body desperately needed. The prices were also very fair for the experience.
Restaurants - The breakfast buffet had a comprehensive assortment of English and Indian offerings. They also made fresh dosas, omelets, and pancakes. While I have no complaints about the food - it was all tasty - the spread was less refined than what we experienced at The Connaught. Drinks at the Sky Deck is a must - it’s what gives the hotel its namesake with a beautiful view of the Taj Mahal. We had dinner at Jankhar our final evening. We enjoyed the samosa chaat, tandoori chicken, and yellow daal. The food here was all very, very good and I’d recommend eating here if you don’t want to venture out into Agra for dinner.
Service - Service was ok. Everyone was friendly and approachable throughout the hotel. Restaurant staff were personable and so were the lobby staff. But there were a few incidences that were a little strange to me. Check in time is listed as 2 pm. We arrived at 2:10. A receptionist brought us to a lounge area where we were offered herbal tea while he processed our passports. He brought me check in documents to sign and then I assumed he left to get my room key. After 30 minutes of waiting, we approached the front desk who said our room was still being prepared and that we could walk around until it was ready. I didn’t mind waiting at all but would’ve liked if the receptionist would have told me that it would be about 45 minutes before our room was ready. The other service quirk was housekeeping. They offered turndown service one night but not the next. They took the bath towels out of the room but didn’t replace them (which I wasn’t bothered by - simple human error). I went to the front desk to request them but housekeeping never came with towels. I then called a few hours later and they still didn’t come.
Fitness facility - The gym equipment is very limited so if having a gym during your stay is important to you than do consider this. The first few weight plates on the cable machine are cracked so is a bit dangerous to use. There is a limited number of dumbbells. The treadmill worked fine and there’s a cycle and elliptical.
All-in-all, I had a pleasant stay but there are a few fairly minor considerations that make this a 4 instead of a 5...

I had the pleasure of staying at TajView Agra for a wedding. The entire trip can be summed up as nothing short of magical. I cannot recall the last time I witnessed such hospitality. Beginning from the luxurious stay, the beauty of this hotel is not its majestic status of a 5 star, but the warmth of the people that work here. I have had the opportunity of staying at various big hotel chains, but nowhere have I felt like extending my stay. The hotel might mislead you by its compactness, but it offers you a cosy home-like atmosphere. I would like to mention a couple of people who genuinely made my heart smile with their lovely acts of service. I’m grateful to Mr. Dev who was there at every step of planning the entire wedding, and who lent his support in inexplicable ways. The head chef, Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, whose scrumptious dishes left everyone in awe, especially thankful to him and the head of bakery who let me in the kitchen, a memory that will be etched in my mind forever. Mr. Madan and Mr. Ali whose smiles and brilliance in their services will always be remembered. Ms. Shweta Arora, always kind and sweet with her words, which are reflected in her perfectionism at her job. Lastly, Ms. Geeta, without whom we couldn’t have enjoyed a clean and beautiful stay. Overall, I regret that I couldn’t visit one of the seven wonders of the world, but I’m beyond ecstatic to have stayed at a place that surely...
