Intro: First of all, I was travelling from Chennai to Tirupati for temple visit. Unfortunately I got evening train which arrives to TPTY at 6pm. Adarsh residency is clearly invisible from TPTY railway station, even near the colorful underpass and auto drivers in the same road never heard about it. One auto driver misguided us and we ended up walking for few meters. Nonsense Check-in rules: We checked in at 6pm and the receptionist strictly told that we need to check out by 12pm next day and cannot allow us to stay till 6pm next day (mentioned MakeMyTrip MMT booking works like that). Not at all flexible and understanding. Most of the rooms were vacant. Regularly you stay for 24h starting from your checkin time, here if I stay beyond 12pm I will be ending up paying for one more day (another full 2200). Fake Price hike in MMT: Coming to price I paid Rs.2200 for just 13hours (6pm to 7am next day) for a 4 bed AC room through MMT but their regular charge for the same room is Rs.1900 max to max. I lost roughly Rs.300 as I booked in MakeMyTrip. Room quality: average room, 4* 5Rs Medimix soap, blankets and towel quality I wish not to remember and not to use. Lift gave me a claustrophobic feeling and most of the time lift was not working. My elderly parents were left with no option rather than climbing down 3 floors. Wifi details, landline details were kept hidden from the customer. Room service was available all the time for namesake. I told them to provide us coffee or tea at 6am so we can start our temple visit, room service were so busy and it took them to reach our room by 7am (5mins before we checked out). Shower was not working. To Conclude: Wonderful experience which I try to forget and I got scoldings from my parents for choosing this one. Better to check TTD website continuously and book in Srinivasam, Madhavam, VishnuNivasam if planning for pilgrimage. Else just opt any residency rather than MakeMyTrip (Same quality atleast you don't need to pay extra MMT commission). Note: This review should not be taken down, this reflects what I have gone through unnecessarily in that one day. I am equally blaming this one (for quality) and MMT (for price) also me (for selecting these both). I was refraining myself from these reviews most of the time, while we were checking out the room boy suggested to write our review, star rating and post it. Thanks for reading, hope it helps...
Read moreEarly check in -We arrived at Tirupati early in the morning so we informed the hotel about early check in one week in advance and they agreed which is a huge plus. Their only condition was if we are checking in early we also have to check out early which was not an issue.
Service - Service was decent but there is room for improvement. Although this hotel doesn't have a restaurant they do serve you tea and food if you order it.
Cleanliness - Room and washrooms were pretty clean and when you call for room service they will clean your room, washrooms and change bedsheets.
Location - It is ideal for tourists since it is close to Tirupati railway station, Bus stand and Darshan ticket counter.
Rooms - We booked two rooms one was a regular room with a queen bed and other was 5 seater room with two king beds and a single bed. The 5 seater room was huge and very spacious. Which is a big plus. The AC works perfectly fine just ask them for AC remote to adjust the temperature in case you don't have it in your room. One AC was able to cool the huge 5 seater room which was a huge relief in Tirupatis heat. Only issue is they have spring mattress which might not be comfortable for everyone. They also don't have any kind of locker where you can keep your valuables when you go out. They don't provide you shampoo, soap or towels. So you have to bring your own stuff if you are planning to stay here.
Accessibility - The hotel has a lift which is very convenient for old people or people who cannot...
Read moreStayed with family for 3 nights. Good budget hotel within walking distance of railway and bus stations and most amenities. Rooms and bathrooms are simple and clean. A/c and TV in all rooms. Occasionally found some unclean and frayed towels but were replaced on asking. The owner was courteous enough to drive me on his scooter to show me around the places from where we could commute to Tirumala and other places, within 10 mins of checking in. That was a very nice gesture from him. It doesn’t have a restaurant to one needs to go out for every meal except tea/coffee that they’ll procure on payment from the neighbouring shop. Hot water service only in the morning till around 10 am but given the temperatures in Tirupati, not a big drawback. The location of the hotel is a bit polluted with lots of traffic and a sewage drain right behind the hotel (luckily stench doesn’t reach the rooms). But overall a good budget hotel for a couple of days, considering most visitors would be busy visiting temples and hardly spend time...
