If you’re planning a trip to Visakhapatnam and want to stay somewhere that offers luxury, comfort, and one of the most picturesque beachside experiences on the east coast, Novotel Vizag is a top contender.

The hotel boasts an unbeatable location — right on the Ramakrishna Beach road. The uninterrupted view of the Bay of Bengal is one of its biggest highlights. Whether it’s sunrise over the sea or the glittering city lights at night, the vistas from the hotel are nothing short of stunning.

Ambience & Property:

From the moment you enter, the ambience is warm, elegant, and inviting. The lobby is tastefully designed with a mix of modern decor and subtle coastal touches. Whether you’re on a business trip or a leisure holiday, the atmosphere suits all types of guests.

The property has ample open spaces, a sea-facing pool (although the pool was not in service when I had checked in) and multiple dining areas — all of which enhance the coastal charm. Sunset views from the poolside or restaurant deck are especially memorable.

Rooms:

The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. Most of them offer spectacular sea views, which make your stay feel even more relaxing. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and modern, and all standard amenities (TV, minibar, Wi-Fi, etc.) are well provided.

Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean right outside your window is one of the key reasons people return here.

Dining:

Novotel Vizag has several in-house dining options, including The Square (multi-cuisine), Zaffran (for North Indian food), and Infinity (rooftop bar & grill). The food is generally excellent, with fresh ingredients and good service. Buffet spreads at The Square are generous and varied, including both local specialties and international options.

Service:

The staff is courteous, professional, and eager to assist. Housekeeping is prompt, and the front desk staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Occasionally, during peak tourist seasons, service can slow down a bit, but the team generally handles things with grace.

We stayed here for 2 nights- Family staycation. Traveling from Bombay, we were warmly welcomed by Jyothi and her battery of associates. The checkin was super smooth (most of the checkin formalities were completed even before we stepped in- thanks to the proactive approach and hospitable nature of Jyothi and her team. Great sense of responsibility displayed there knowing there are senior citizens in the family. Profound gratitude to Jyothi and her team. Truly commendable and highly appreciated.) Beach facing rooms had a therapeutic view. We were offered 2 rooms adjacent to each other on the 6th level. The view was breathtaking and the room spacious and super comfortable. All the hotel services availed were on time and flawless. Each and every team member is super helpful and friendly. The food here is one of the major highlights. Chefs go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. Breakfast, lunch and dinner dining options are plenty. Chef Parimi, Chef Madeena, Chef Vikram, Chef Buddha were all exceptional and extremely hospitable. The hotel is truly blessed to have a team of culinary rockstars with such great levels of skills and proficiency. The food here for all three meals was delicious and very well flavored to suit all kinds of palates. Kudos to the FnB service team too for their super quick and efficient services. Not a great stay one more time. These guys need to learn from Taj or other Accor hotels when it comes to welcoming and valuing Elite Accor members.

Despite repeated emails and even a phone conversation with the Duty Manager, Mr Adarsh, there was no consideration given to my request for a suite upgrade - even though one was clearly available during our stay. I had specifically requested this as I was visiting with my family, after a long time, for a personal requirement. Instead, we were placed in a substandard (although they upgraded to the premiere) room with a clogged wash basin and a broken wardrobe hinge. When I reported about the wash basin to the maintenance, the technician arrived, left muddy footprints in the washroom, and left without fixing a thing. The issue remained unresolved even after two days.

To make matters worse, they charged an extra person fee for my daughter - something I’ve never encountered in any of my stays across numerous countries as an Accor Elite member. While I almost refused to pay the 5% service charge out of frustration, I ultimately let it go.

Reception staff seemed unaware - or uninterested - that I was an Elite member. Yet they had no hesitation calling me sharply at 11:00 AM to remind me to check out by 12:00 PM or face additional charges. I had to calmly asked to recheck with their superior and call me again.

This is the second consecutive poor experience at this property. Despite raising concerns with the Duty Manager during my previous stay, nothing seems to have improved.
