Feel Like Home — Hotel in Andhra Pradesh

This homestay provided an absolutely dreadful experience, marking a low point in my travels. Despite booking two rooms well in advance, upon arrival with my friends (around 9-10 am on our scheduled check-in day), we were shockingly informed by the caretaker that no rooms were available. We understandably protested, highlighting our prior reservation. However, we were initially told that rooms wouldn't be ready until 4:30 pm, leaving us stranded with our luggage and exhausted from our journey. After further discussion, the caretaker offered a temporary solution: one room for the interim, with the promise of our booked two rooms becoming available after 4:30 pm. While not ideal, we reluctantly agreed. However, our frustration escalated when, just an hour later, we were informed that we would have to pay for the single room we were currently occupying until our actual rooms were ready at 4:30 pm. This felt completely unreasonable and unjust. Attempts to speak with the owner were initially rebuffed with claims of their being busy. When we finally managed to connect, the owner's behavior was even more appalling. He acted as if he were doing us a grand favor ("ashan, "as if we should be grateful"), reiterating that we would receive our two booked rooms on the upper floor after 4:30 pm and could check out at the standard time of 9 am ( this all were the conditions that were part of our original booking!) His dismissive attitude culminated in a shocking ultimatum: "If you guys don't want to stay, then you guys can leave." This level of disrespect towards paying customers is simply outrageous. Utterly disgusted and exhausted, I ultimately made the decision to book another hotel at a significantly higher price, just to escape this appalling situation. The very purpose of booking in advance (to secure a better price and ensure accommodation) which was completely negated. This was, without a doubt, the worst accommodation experience of my life. ⚠️ Although I’m saying this from personal experience, please beware — there is nothing “Feel Like Home” about this place.

I booked a property through Booking.com, contacted the owner, and he asked me to pay ₹1000 in advance. I trusted him and paid. One day before my check-in, the caretaker called to confirm whether I was coming. When I said yes, he sent me the location — but to my surprise, it was a completely different property under the same name “Feel Like Home”!

When I questioned him, he said the rooms I had booked were “not available.” I called the owner, and instead of apologizing, he said the same thing — either take it or leave it — and he would refund the money if I didn’t want it.

When I finally saw the place, it was disappointing. The rooms and bathrooms were old, dusty, and smelled bad — totally different from what was shown online.

👉 However, I must mention that the caretaker boy was polite and well-behaved, which was the only positive part of the experience.

So, please double-check all details before booking — or better yet, avoid this property altogether. This was one of my worst...
