Royal Orchid Resort & Convention Centre — Hotel in Bengaluru

From Outside, and website/review status it is nice resort with lot of amenities. How ever overall experience is low and customer service need quite a ton of improvement. This place used to (pre covid) treat/serve customers (had many corporate visits) better which seems no longer the case. we did one day stay with Family on luxury cottage with Breakfast and one meal offer. What Found not Great? Check-in experience is pathetic. We requested for early check-in 12:30 (with prior intimation); since rooms were not ready, chose to take the lunch buffet of the hotel. Post the Lunch, at 230 PM as well, the rooms were not ready . Front Desk experience can improve a ton, such as (a) No Explanation on how the resort is operated (b) No welcome drink or taking care of customers (c) It was not Mentioned anywhere about how to access Wi-Fi,(d) Timings for amenities were not mentioned anywhere etc..

Swimming Pool - Its not mentioned (neither at website/while booking or at front desk while check-in) that Morning 06:00-10:30 and Evening 15:00-18:30 Pool is used for coaching swimming for the outsiders and pool is fully occupied by kids and trainers at this time and not accessible for the resort inmates unless we chose to use the pool at mid noon at this hot weather.

Room Tidiness - Room looks neat at beginning; but as you start observing - Things are just not right, such as (1) Bed linen is not new (all filled with small hair); (2) AC is not working had to call technician to fix; Complex TV/inhouse mechanism to watch. (Remote is faulty too) Lots of mosquitoes to deal with as well

Volleyball Area - It’s not cleaned and tons of mosquitos.

Overall resort Cleanliness - Its bit mess around - Lot garbage laying around and folks has lethargic attitude to clean those. (Especially Behind road access which luxury cottage has to Amenities or sports room place. Front Space Looks Clean- Backside and other areas not so great. What Found Good / OK. Food Quality/Taste (less spicey, oily and salty) is good for Lunch and next day breakfast. Badminton Court (indoor is decent)

We had our wedding celebrations here (Jan 2022) and had booked ~30 odd rooms and lawns/banquet hall for 2 night. The rooms were sub standard. The mattress was poor and the staff was not very thoughtful while allotting rooms, e.g married couple given twin room. A couple of my relatives fell off the bed because the mattress was poor and not the right fit for the bed. The key card stopping working frequently and required constant visit to the reception to fix. The exhaust fans in the washroom don’t work at night since it’s a common fan and one of the staff was ridiculous enough to say that we should call the reception at night if we want the exhaust turned on when we go the toilet. The lockers provided in the rooms were sub standard. We had even complained about the lockers to the staff multiple times. During our function when we required things from the locker, it jammed. After multiple arguments and an hour long delay the hotel had to get the locker cut open. During this time out proceedings were stalled. The security measures were inadequate. The first night during the wedding ceremony a stranger from outside came onto stage when our articles part of the ceremony were in use and refusing to leave till we paid them some amount. Despite the complaints to the management the same person showed up to our venue the second day as well. Additionally, on the second night, one of our guests purse (valuable worth 20k) was stolen and the hotel refused to take any responsibility for the same. We had a huge fight with the management before the final settlement and they were unapologetic about any of the happenings in the resort. The security head was arrogant and said what can they do if random strangers sneak into our function. The hotel also told us that we should understand as they’re understaffed. But is that our problem? They knew more than 2 months in advance about our function and footfall, so it was their job to be prepared for it.

My family booked this resort for my marriage ceremonies from 7th Dec-10th December, 2023. My wife and her guests are from United States and we had guests traveling from different parts of India as well. The wedding was hosted at Royal Orchid and events were managed by Meragi. Please do not use both services for your special occasions.

To begin with, the check in process on 7th morning was the worst experience. Rooms were not ready, and the staff had no answers. They messed up the guest lists given to them well in advance. We had guests including bride’s parents standing at the reception for couple of hours waiting for their rooms. Those guests who got their rooms, were asked to switch rooms again and again. People were being given already occupied rooms by someone else not from our guest list. My family and myself, being the groom had to step in to move luggage around for the guests. Their staff was extremely incompetent during the overall process. The first impression upon check in was chaotic, unprofessional, disorganized, and extremely stressful for all critical people involved with the wedding.

Secondly, the room itself was average. My sink had stains and some of the rooms had electrical issues. Overall, average at best.

Third, their own staff at front desk had no idea which of their rooms were occupied and even sent a complete stranger to my brother’s room while he was in there.

At the food service, some of the items did not have labels and we had to remind them over and over to put a name tag.

Fourth, and the list gets long. The wi-fi in this hotel will work only if you have luck on your side. By the end of our events, I am happy that we are all out of this unprofessionally run circus which they call a Resort. Please don’t waste your money for your...
