I frequently stay at the Hotel O2 Oxygen in Kolkata, and my latest visit was from February 12th to February 15th. This was either my 45th stay in last 4 years, so I am well acquainted with the hotel's services. First and foremost, I would like to commend the quality of their breakfast, which is consistently excellent. However, I have noticed a lack of variety in the breakfast menu, as it tends to repeat the same items without introducing anything new.
During this particular stay, my experience was somewhat marred by a few issues. Despite requesting an extra quilt for additional bedding, I was informed by the reception that only extra blankets are provided, not quilts. This was disappointing, especially considering the extra charge for additional bedding; it seems reasonable to expect an extra quilt to be included.
Furthermore, I found the housekeeping services to be rather slow, which is an area in need of improvement. The restroom services were satisfactory, but the efficiency and promptness of housekeeping left a lot to be desired.
Additionally, the hotel's interior has become quite outdated. It's evident that a renovation is necessary to refresh and modernize the premises.
In summary, while I appreciate the breakfast quality and have had many satisfactory stays at the Hotel O2 Oxygen, my recent experience highlights areas for improvement, particularly in terms of amenities provided, housekeeping services, and the need for an update in the hotel's...
Read moreOur experience at Hotel O2 Oxygen was nothing short of a nightmare. It all began with a missed flight, and in our desperate search for a reasonable stay, we stumbled upon this establishment. Upon calling to inquire about a room for a family of four, the quoted price over the phone mysteriously increased when we reached the reception.
The confusion continued as we were charged a whopping 7k instead of the initially quoted 5k, all because the guy on the phone denied completely that we didnt mention the ages of our kids which we did. To avoid further disputes, we reluctantly settled the bill.
Despite a decent breakfast, our troubles escalated when we requested laundry service. The housekeeping department assured us it was complimentary, but upon checkout, we were handed a 1400 bill for the supposedly free service. The miscommunication was mind-boggling, and despite seeking clarification from both the reception and housekeeping, we were left bewildered and forced to pay.
As if that weren't enough, the final blow came when we requested the WiFi password in the evening. Despite visible network signals, the receptionist denied us access, adding to the overall frustration of our stay.
In conclusion, Hotel O2 Oxygen proved to be far from customer-oriented, operating more like a profit-driven business. The inconsistency in behavior from check-in to check-out left us thoroughly dissatisfied. Our advice: Avoid this place...
