I booked Hotel Buddha International via Booking.com for two nights for our stay in Patna. As requested by the property, I completed an online check-in prior to our arrival, providing a copy of my British passport as required. I also messaged the hotel ahead of time advising them of our late arrival time - which they confirmed with an āOKā. Upon arriving in the area at night, I called the hotel to ask for directions. At this point, the hotel representative asked me where I was from: when I told them I was from the UK, they said that unfortunately I wasnāt allowed to come and stay at the hotel as no foreigners were allowed at the premise! This came to us as a complete shock and surprise. It was past 2am at night and we were stranded in an unknown Indian city with no accommodation. Needless to say this was very inconvenient. Nowhere on the hotelās listing on Booking.com does it mention the limitations that people with non-Indian passports arenāt allowed to stay! Also, we had already been exchanging messages prior to this moment and I had provided information on my nationality as requested, so Iām not sure why they didnāt alert me earlier before I was practically knocking on their door. I really donāt think this hotel should be allowed to advertise on Booking.com, a global platform, unless they can accommodate all people making bookings online - or at least make it very clear that itās only available to those with a specific passport. Lastly: itās pretty misleading to call your hotel āInternationalā but not allowing international guests. To summarise: it doesnāt sit right for a hotel to accept bookings on a global online platform and then denying entry from those arriving at night after long day of travel. Advice to hotel: please immediately update your online listing description and policies and make it clear who is allowed to stay and who isnāt to avoid future guests from having the same awful...

I recently stayed at and was thoroughly unimpressed with the service and ambience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a lack of enthusiasm and attention to detail.
The check-in process was slow and inefficient, and the staff seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in helping me. My room was clean but lacked any real character or charm, and the bed was uncomfortable.
But the biggest letdown was the service throughout my stay. The staff were unfriendly and unresponsive to my requests, and it took multiple attempts to get even the simplest things done. The hotel's amenities, such as the fitness center and restaurant, were underwhelming and didn't live up to expectations.
The ambience of the hotel was also lacking, with a cold and impersonal atmosphere that made me feel like I was just a number rather than a guest.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay. The lack of service and poor ambience made my stay a disappointment, and I wouldn't hesitate to look elsewhere in the future.
Rating: 1/5 stars

Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever again, putrid food. We stayed at this hotel for the night of the 14th of February. We have stayed at a number of budget hotels during our month in India, and the facilities in this hotel are about average. However, this hotel also has a kitchen on the top floor, and they leave a menu in your room to encourage you to order meals. We decided to order breakfast, and the menu listed poached, fried or boiled eggs as well as omelette. We asked about omelette but we're told that the only egg dish available was boiled eggs. This seemed a bit strange, but we ordered two eggs each. When our order arrived we started to peel the eggs and immediately noticed a putrid odour and slimy froth under the shells. We could smell the odour from 2 or 3 feet away! We then realised that they must have cooked a batch of boiled eggs some time before and reheated some of them for our order! That explained why only boiled eggs were available! We took the eggs down to reception and made the senior staff member smell them. He told a boy to take us up to the kitchen with the eggs, where we received a muttered apology, and then they asked if we would like them replaced! We declined and went elsewhere for breakfast. When we came to check out they tried to. bill us for the rancid eggs we had returned! Stay there if you wish, but don't...
