Visited Buddha Smriti Park or Buddha Memorial Park in Patna yesterday. It is an important centre of religious tourism in Bihar, India with a massive 22-acre park located near the Patna Railway Junction to commemorate the 2554th birth anniversary of the Buddha. I was mesmerized on the the design of this marvelous park that has been prepared by architect Vikram Lall. I was told that during the last seven years, Buddha Memorial Park has emerged as a modern centre of excellence for understanding the life and teachings of Buddha. It is a must-visit destination for inquisitive people of all faiths and religions. Earlier till 1994 there was central jail in this huge premises now turned into a park, you can still find ruins of the Jail. It also ingeniously designed campus comprises Karuna Stupa, a meditation centre, a library, a museum. The circular building or the Stupa is accessible through a series of ascending ramps which take the visitors to a plaza at the highest level of the building, from here one enters the main circular hall with structural glazing all around and wooden flooring in concentric fashion. There is a glass enclosure in which relic of the Buddha has been kept which is one amongst the eight original relics excavated from Vaishali. The meditation centre in the park consists of 60 air-conditioned cells, each having a viewing window towards the Patliputra Karuna Stupa. Another attraction of the Buddha Memorial Park is the museum building which showcases the life and times of Buddha through original artifacts, 3-D models, audio-visual medium and multimedia presentations. There's also saplings planted from famous Bodhi Tree & other religious places planted by his holiness Dalai Lama. There's laser show in the park from 6:00 pm -6:30 pm too. Every year thousands of tourists from countries like Japan, Myanmar, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and India visit this place for solace and enlightenment. At the time of its inauguration Dalai Lama rightly said, "I hope this park will become a source of inspiration for everybody, following any religion or atheist, to develop compassion and love."

recently visited Buddha Smriti Park near Patna Station and wanted to share my experience. Overall, the park offers a peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation and chilling out. Here's my review: The highlight of Buddha Smriti Park is undoubtedly the soothing background music that fills the air. The calming mantra playing in the background creates a serene ambiance, allowing visitors to unwind and find solace in the tranquility of the park. It adds a spiritual touch to the surroundings and enhances the overall experience. The park itself is well-maintained and boasts beautiful green spaces, making it an ideal spot for spending some quality time in nature. The meticulously manicured gardens, dotted with vibrant flowers, provide a picturesque backdrop that adds to the park's charm. One of the standout features of the park is the grand Buddha Smriti Stupa, which stands tall and majestic. The stupa serves as a reminder of the rich Buddhist heritage and provides a focal point for visitors to reflect and meditate. It is a visually impressive structure and adds to the overall appeal of the park. However, I must mention that the park can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours and weekends. This can sometimes hinder the peaceful experience one seeks while visiting such a place. Additionally, the availability of seating areas could be improved to accommodate more visitors who wish to sit and relax. Despite these minor drawbacks, Buddha Smriti Park is a great place to unwind and find solace in the midst of nature. Whether you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or simply want to spend some time in a serene environment, this park offers a pleasant retreat. Overall, I would recommend Buddha Smriti Park to those seeking a tranquil and relaxing experience. Don't forget to immerse yourself in the soothing background music that adds an extra layer of peace and serenity to your visit.
