Guess the hotel being reviewed: We recently stayed at this hotel, drawn by its strategic location for shopping and the fact that it had been newly refurbished, as advertised. However, our experience was far from satisfactory due to major cleanliness issues.
Upon check-in, the room was untidy—dusty beds with hair on them, a dirty toilet, and a sticky floor. After raising our concerns, the staff promptly cleaned the room, which we appreciated. However, on the second day, we encountered cockroaches crawling on us, and on the third day, we found a large rat in the room. Due to the lack of space and proper furniture, we had to keep our luggage on the floor, and unfortunately, the rat even entered one of our bags. This was extremely distressing and unacceptable.
The cleanliness throughout the hotel was disappointing, with cobwebs under the table and a general lack of upkeep. Breakfast was another letdown—there were very limited choices, consisting only of bread, butter, jam, and one hot meal (either thosai or idli). More variety would have been appreciated.
On the positive side, the location is excellent for shopping, and the staff was responsive to requests. However, these do not compensate for the poor hygiene standards. The hotel has potential, but significant improvements in cleanliness and maintenance are urgently needed. Until then, I would not recommend staying here.
I do not recommend this hotel, The only positive is the room was a nice size with working AC and fan.|The bathroom is the size of a public toilet cubical, so you can imaging the difficulty with shower in there.|The reason we booked this hotel was because it advertised the room having a balcony and view. There was no balcony and no view from the room. In fact the room's tiny window opened into the hallway and had the AC unit directly above, so actually you wouldn't open the window as it was roasting in the hallway. |The settee in our room had a disgusting large bum size stain on it.|No cups were provided, only glasses to make coffee in.|Electric socket next to bed doesn't work.|I like a firm bed but this was hard as rock.|The staff don't understand English|Breakfast was basic. The butter discussing, in a tea caddy, obvious it had melted and set repeatedly, yuk.|The little porter chap blatantly waited for tips though had only brought items that should have been in the room before we got there as we had pre-booked the room.
Rooms are basic, but they are clean and comfortable. All the room amenities provided were good and properly maintained. The food quality was really good and tasty, which was one of the highlights of our stay.
The breakfast service staff and the reception staff were polite, helpful, and responsive. The morning breakfast menu was simple but sufficient, fresh, and enjoyable.
The main drawback of this hotel is its location. There is no parking facility available in front of the hotel. We had to park our car around 10 buildings away, near a godown-type area, which was inconvenient, especially with luggage. Also, driver’s rooms are not provided on a complimentary basis, which could be a concern for travelers coming with drivers.
Apart from these issues, the stay was comfortable and pleasant.
Overall, it was a good stay with decent rooms, good food, and supportive staff, but parking and location need improvement.
