Booked 2 rooms - one for 2 adults and one for 3 adults in June 2024. When we reached there we noticed :
Bathrooms don't have a lock and the reception kept telling us it is same for Ibis everywhere as it is a business hotel. Very weird. There seemed to be no solution. Never seen such small rooms before without a lock on bathroom. Turns out single bed (queen size) rooms don't have locks on washroom. After a lot of time wasted the manager swiched one of our rooms to another floor with double bed(queen size divided in 2) which had bathroom lock. All rooms are same rate so they could have done it sooner.
When we got that one room on other floor they told us that they don't provide mattress/bed or anything for the third person- why do you accept the booking for 3 people then? There is no bed sofa or any space in those rooms to adjust a person. It was disappointment after disappointment. We reached late at night and had to adjust somehow atleast for that night.
We had dinner in the restaurant and left one of tiffin boxes before retiring for the night around 1.30 AM. Realised in the morning 7 AM after waking up and asked the staff about it. They said it is thrown in garbage- doesn't makes sense. Which municipal picks up garbage so early in the morning? I'm sure one of those staff stole it.
It is a beautiful city but I would never recommend the hotel to anyone - business trip or family trip. Breakfast and Dinner is expensive here compared to outside restaurants nearby. Would suggest you eat outside somewhere - lots of good places in this city around. I never expected this from a...
Read moreWe stayed at IBIS for a night with family. However, the hotel lacked comfort in terms of hospitality and rooms. During check-in, we had to wait for more than 5 minutes as a single receptionist had to deal with another customer who had payment issues. It would be more feasible to have multiple receptionists to handle multiple guests simultaneously. After resolving the argument, they provided the access card directly upon receiving the KYC documents, without providing further instructions about breakfast or room service. The restroom lacked a lock, which was inconvenient for those staying with friends or relatives. The elevator required the access card for operation, which could be problematic if you have family staying in the room and need to leave. You'd have to request an additional access card to ensure they aren't left in the dark. The lobby is on the first floor, and there's no assistance provided at the entrance to carry luggage to the lobby. The employees seemed least bothered about informing customers about breakfast timings or giving reminder calls. We arrived at 10:35 AM for breakfast, only to find out it had ended at 10:30 AM, with no courtesy shown to check if guests had breakfast or not. Regarding food and beverage ordered through room service, there was confusion about tax charges such as CST and GST. On a positive note, the hotel is conveniently located opposite LULU hypermarket. However, there's no valet parking facility. The employees...
Read moreWhile it may be suitable for business travelers, I found some aspects disappointing. The hotel seemed to cater mainly to business travelers, with suites designed for their specific needs. However, as a leisure traveler, I found the standard rooms to be very small, which made the overall experience quite cramped and uncomfortable.
The bathrooms in the rooms were especially disappointing. They felt suffocating due to the lack of proper ventilation and limited space. This was quite an inconvenience and affected the overall comfort of my stay.
Moreover, I found the pricing to be on the higher side compared to the overall quality of the accommodations and services provided.
Speaking of services, the a-la-carte service was rather slow, which was highly frustrating, especially after a long day of traveling. The only highlight of my stay was the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of dishes and was enjoyable.
In conclusion, Ibis Coimbatore may be suitable for business travelers due to its suites, but for leisure travelers like myself, the small rooms, suffocating bathrooms, high pricing, and slow service were disappointing. The breakfast buffet was the only saving grace...
