‘My Place’ restaurant has been the meeting spot for around 03 of our families… we used to come to this restaurant at least twice in a month (with family / friends / colleagues)… for the past few years the experience with the restaurant was good and memorable…!!! As usual we planned a friendly discussion over dinner on November 8, 2014 at My Place… That turned out to be the worst experience we ever had with My Place or with any other restaurants in the city… we weren’t even served with the welcome drink; when asked about it the waiters started giving excuses that some of the waiter are new and does not know about the restaurant’s practice… we ordered for tandoori roti and chicken gravy, and It was served in 20 minutes, but since the curry was not sufficient we called the waiter to take orders… the waiter (Mr. Arun) was walking around to other tables and did not even bother to come to our table.. when we called him to place food orders it was 08.35 PM; he did not turn up till 09.25 PM… we then had to call the restaurant landline twice to tell that we were waiting for such a long time and no waiter attended… there was still no response even after the phone call… there were customers in only one table when we entered the restaurant, so there is no chance to say that they were busy attending other tables… Mr.Ashok or Ashokan came after insisting the waiter that we need to meet the manager or the person in-charge of the restaurant… He was not even ready to listen to what the concern was; he just carelessly made a statement saying ‘it will be like this since we are in shortage of support staffs; even if you don’t want to pay the bill, it’s ok with us. You can go’… This is the height of irresponsible customer service that one can offer… We just paid the bill for whatever we had, and walked out without finishing our dinner, and deciding that none of our families or friends would visit or suggest this place to anyone… This feedback or complaint may be useless to the restaurant people… we wouldn’t bother even if you don’t change your customer service practices; as customers we have...
Read moreA very average restaurant in Ramanathapuram that served south indian, north indian and chinese cuisines. The only highlight is that there is ample space for car park inside, and that they have both indoor and a very pretty outdoor seating area, where there is a huge screen. We chose to sit inside, and were given a welcome drink. We tried out the manchow soup, the clear soup and the cream of chicken, which were all very normal in taste. The chilli paneer starter was extremely bland, and served cold. We had a variety of rotis for main course - tandoori rotis and phulka, butter naan and aloo paratha. While the tandoori rotis were not cooked well, the butter naan tasted really good. The aloo parathas were extremely bulky with way too much of filling, and tasted nothing like a typical north indian paratha. Along with this we had the kadai veg curry and the malai kofta - both of which we completely enjoyed eating. The spices were perfect and it tasted great. We also had the fried rice, some plain roast and egg dosas, along with chettinad chicken curry, that all were pretty good. A special mention for the plain vegetable fried rice that had a great flavour and taste to it. The quantity of food was certainly filling. They had a wide variety of options for desserts, like sundaes and so on. We had the butterscotch ice cream, some caramel custard and some brownie with ice cream - that all tasted good. The rating is hence very typical of only a certain few dishes, and it was hard to decide at the end of the day, if we had a good time here or not. The service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Woud be best if you you knew the dishes that were made well and had...
Read moreI had a horrible experience yesterday night.
Parking We we're a pax of 15 person, excluding children. Right from the parking I felt bad. They had a huge space for parking inside still then they made me park my bike somewhere 100 meters away from the restaurant, I parked near the restaurant in some 20 meters(outside the restaurant), the guard was scolding me saying that these are the space for the customers coming car, which is yet to come. So bikers going to this restaurant, they will treat you as beggers even if you are ready to pay the amount they ask for.
Service One of the worst service I have ever seen in such a type of restaurant. They will serve the food with no plates and plates take at least 15 minutes after the food have already arrived and few reminders to the staff. If you ask for normal water, there are chances that you may end up even without getting it.
Food It takes 30 mins for a lime soda, if you don't trust me you can ask this to staff, if in any case you are visiting. I ordered one dosa, I wanted it to be soft because it was meant to be given to a child of 14 months and even after clearly telling my needs, it ended up with a very dry roast, which I couldn't able to feed the infant. And Chicken 65 is not served with a spice of lemon, it took an hour to get a slice of it and after two reminders.
Ambience Nice, but I wasn't able to enjoy that of all these little things.
Overall I strongly not encourage this place, And the visit I had is the last I ever...
