Hotel vanson delite — Hotel in Delhi

I do not recommend this hotel for single females or people who expect cleanliness. I wonder how the ratings on Agoda site is very high (questionable) (1) Location is wrong on Google maps, it seems to be on the Main Street but it’s through some shady narrow street/galli, there is no visible sign board that I could locate as mentioned by the hotel staff (I checked twice). There were dozens of men who surrounded me instantly when I was trying to find out where the hotel was, I didn’t feel safe as it was night time. (2) they do not accept payment by card, they gave some reason but they had excuse for every single thing I complained, so I am not sure if i should trust their reasons. (3) Cleanliness was unacceptable for a Rs 6,100 family room, 2 double beds. The bedsheets were not washed, there were lumps of dirts every corner, there was a cockroach in the room. The mat at bathroom door was dirty. They tried to change with equally dirty doormat. After walking in the room for a while my feet were dirty. (4) the heater had issues throughout the hotel so they were rotating a single heating rod between multiple rooms. It took us 2 hours to shower (although 1 of my family members showered with cold water) (only 1 bucket provided, the heating was very slow) We had only one day in Delhi to go around and we could leave only at 12pm (we had planned to leave by 9am). I spoke to a fellow customer who was much more annoyed than me and who had paid only half the price of mine (1,500 for 1 double bed). The Aircon was completely broken. (4) rooms are not sound proof. I could hear people talking loudly or even walking around the whole night. (I stayed there just to get good sleep which didn’t happen.) (5) the staff responded politely unlike other comments I see here. But kitchen service was very slow. It took almost 1 hour and multiple phone calls to get 3 cups of tea (another reason that delayed us) (5) the compensation was to laugh at. AVOID THIS HOTEL!! Terrible location! First we organised a taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel. This was organised through the hotel where they proceeded to charge us for the taxi ride 3 x more than what is usually charged. When we arrived the proceeded to tell us that they didn’t accept card payment and could only pay in cash. They then made us wait in the lobby whilst they organised a friend of theirs to come and try and sell us some tours. We had already informed them we had all this booked but they insisted. The person arrived and chatted for half an hour trying to sell us things for a price that was out of this world. When our room was finally ready, we headed to it. The room was in a state of needing repair. Our room was located next to what seemed to be the quarters for the staff and above the stairwell. We DID NOT FEEL SAFE OR COMFORTABLE our whole stay and at night even proceeded to place a chair in front of the door. The staff were extremely loud and no sleep was had throughout the night. Pros: Hotel is good but located in a narrow street, it is somewhat managable. Good staff in terms of recieving luggage. 3.It has kitchen service. 4.Cleanliness rating 5/5.

Cons: 1.The room alloted to me had a bad cooling. After following up for 3-4 times and standing there for an hour, room got changed.

No coordination between employees; for 03 hours there was no electricity in the room, a staff picks up the call and says 'it will be resolved' but nothing happened till an hour. It continously happened for 3 times, 4th time a staff came into the room and then it got resolved. It was a MCB down issue and not a power cut. No compensation provided.

At the time of checkout, the price which was asked was double the initially discussed price (half day charge was committed). After explaning & arguing for 5-7 mins to another guy who was at reception, he somehow managed to understand lately. But the reception guy was not admitting the fact about the electricity issue which he should have considered first.

Overall experience: Not recommendable....
