We stayed here for five nights as it was a few hundred metres from the wedding venue. Our hostess had booked over 20 rooms - guests from abroad and India. Imagine how they were inconvenienced and they could not complain as we were all her guests for 2 nights; but, in my case, I was also staying on for three days extra at my cost. My hostess was embarrassed with the quality of poor service given to her guests. ||||The negatives--||1) The rooms were large but poorly maintained. First day for 36 hours, our room key sensor did not work so we had to ask for room door to be opened each time by master key. ||2) On Day 3, the toilet jet spray had to be replaced. ||3) The halogen lights in the room gave no light. The one by the cupboard worked. So they replaced with a very large white light (type used by shopkeepers) which was good.||4) On Day 4, there was no hot water in the bathroom ||5) On Day 5, the toilet stopped working and was repaired after many hassles. ||6) The housekeeper is a sweet old lady but totally inadequate for the job. She does not check on what is working or not. e.g. the bathroom light above shower area stopped working after 3 days and we did not complain, nothing was done. ||7) The wifi is nonexistent in ground floor rooms and poor elsewhere. ||8) the most irritating was the internet - whilst staff said password / username was valid for 3 days, I found that on my iPhone and iPad, I had to input both items EVERY SINGLE time after sleep mode or non use but working mode!! ||9) Dining room staff - they swept the food particles onto the floor after cleaning the table at breakfast time! ||10) Every time / daily we had to remind staff to replenish the room - towels, teabags etc. ||11) There is lot of pigeon gunge on the balcony and window ledges everywhere. ||||The positives --||Arun (the bellboy cum room cleaner) and Neha (the receptionist) were the only two staff who were proactive and did their work with sincerity. The rest just instructed others without any follow-up. The breakfast was filling and good. The manager Mr K. Tripathy was polite and helpful but he had his limits. When the bill was presented, I had it corrected as it was without taxes. Then I gave him the revised bill so that he could tell me the final payable after rebate for all the inconveniences. He gave a 12% rebate on bill after I insisted...
Read moreFirst thing, the location.. this is located in posh Friends colony area but the approach is thru a narrow lane and then when u reach the location you wontbfind the property.. the reason there are no signage, or board to say that this is a hotel in high end residential colony..the entry is thru a side ways slip road.. ||Now comes the reception area - nobody would be there to receive you if ur arrival is after 8pm. U will have to know the table n doors to see if there is some one to help with checkin process.||Food - third grade. Time taken to prepare is approx. 1 hour to 1.5hrs for a simple roti n sabji. |gues they procure it from some road side stall n then wrap it in aluminium foils n serve you.. reason i found the next day during breakfast||No hot water at night. ||Breakfast - No buffet. Once you reach the so called restaurant on 3rd floor you would find a messy room with tables n chairs thrown all around. Then they come to take ur orders. Then they take 40mins to prepare aloo paratha n coffee.. reason as they state is there is some issue at kitchen so equipment not functioning. ||Check out - They cannot generate ur bill before the evening as their manager would come (God knows who the manager is.. ) and only then a bill can be generateds. So had to check out by paying upfront but without a bill which came later...
Read moreWe booked through Trail Blazers for a golden triangle tour and this was the first hotel we stayed in. Sadly, contrary to some of the good reviews, we found our room to be very under par. It smelt damp and the wardrobe was unusable due to a very strong smell of damp and mould. The wall in the corner was mouldy, the windows dirty with dead flies on the sill, the bathroom rusty and scruffy, the shower leaked water all over the floor so we had to paddle around and use the towels to mop up so we didn’t slip, the fridge was hot, not cold, we had to ask several times for replacement towels (we couldn’t find anyone in reception and resorted to asking the restaurant staff for help. They requested them, twice but still we had to go chasing for them until we were eventually given 2), the bed wasn’t clean; indeed it looked like it had been slept in previously; creased, make up smudges and a couple of hairs; very off-putting, The breakfast was very limited and hardly anything left at 8.30 and with only 1 member of staff who appeared after a couple of minutes. On the plus side the hotel was centrally located and the room large and spacious. Luckily our next hotels were significantly better so at least it didn’t ruin the holiday but it wasn’t what we hoped for after 2...
