Abalone Resort — Hotel in Goa

By looks of building, it seemed excellent. But, it turned horrible. Worst service.

Based on horrible experience of my stay. Room and bathroom: Average in size, and good cleanliness. Bathroom was average in size. Food: only breakfast booked during stay. Only offered tea and one/two food item like poha/idli. It was completely tasteless. Bad quality. Staff Behaviour: Normal but so much helpful. Service: it was worst. Well, property don't have dedicated parking area, but there is small area where about 10-15 two wheeler and 2-3 four wheeler fit inside. But, property have about 25+ rooms. According to that, it's not enough space. You can see some motorcycle parked near swimming pool, that's area. Usually, they don't allow any two wheeler to park inside. We were in group. So, we requested to allow us to park inside.

Now the most worst part. No DTH set up box available in my room, Had to go reception and request to install box to watch TV. In bathroom, No small kit of soap and shampoo given. Two big bottle was attached on wall, but both seem same, Smell of both wasn't pleasant. On first day staff provided 2 packed water bottle of 500 ML. For rest stay, given broken seal water bottle. When I asked about it, they answered that they don't have policy to give seal bottled water each day during stay period. No 'CLEAN MY ROOM' SERVICE. Even They didn't pick used bath towels and replace it with washed one each day, I had to call reception to get washed bath towels, at checkout, my room had eight used bath towel.

Overall, my stay was ruined by worst service.

Booked on line, but on arrival, they denied any knowledge of booking. Advertised as having TV, WIFI, Breakfast - it had NONE of these. Neither was there toilet paper, tea/coffee supplies, chairs to sit on balcony. Shower supplied enough hot water for one shower, not two. The TV needed payment to be used - after quite some time, this was rectified, but could only get Hindu speaking channels - the few rupees extra it cost for English speaking channels obviously not considered worthwhile. Room not cleaned. First told a problem with WIFI - the only problem being they don't pay for WiFi that customers can use. Large groups of teenagers arrived - 4 to a room, with the expected noise and mess. Staff friendly enough but very ineffectual. The whole place is very tired, very damaged walkways, not the best lighting, easy to stumble - needing improvements that you just know are not going to happen. Refused to refund any money for lack of the advertised features. The reply (just received 21/02/23) is a load of RUBBISH. On arrival, before problems, we met the owner and we were talking with him about our previous visit some 20 years ago - the same man running it now- we joked that we hoped the service was better than last time - I had been left in a shower, fully lathered, when the water ran out - couldn't say when it would come back. Another evening, we were scalded - no cold flow. This place is fit for the hoards of young visitors, 4 to a room, lots of food/ drink refuse left around, with not a care in the world. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Abalone Resort in Goa, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff, led by the very friendly owner Joshua, were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and memorable.

Joshua, the owner, was exceptionally hospitable and took the time to recommend some fantastic local spots for authentic Goan food, which enhanced our culinary experience.

The location of the resort is ideal—quiet enough to feel like a private retreat, yet close enough to Goa's vibrant beaches and attractions. We spent our days exploring the surrounding area and our evenings enjoying the peaceful ambiance of the resort.
