Left the property absolutely seething. It’s been a tale of undelivered promises and misleading communication, and then just not caring enough about the guest.
I called them and booked their top room for new years. They were charging an extra 5 k per night as “new year premium”, which I was okay with. I paid 45k for a room for 3 nights (see photo) , which would usually be 30k . Repeatedly checked with them about the bathtub in the bathroom.
When I got to the property and turned on the faucet for the bathtub, it only gave cold water. I asked them about it, and they said - “we have an instant geyser.” An instant geyser can barely keep a shower warm, it definitely CANNOT fill up a bathtub. When I told the reception there, they just shrugged and said that there was nothing that they could do. I called the lady who made my reservation and she said “we only do reservations, we don’t take care of operations.”
I was quite annoyed and was not going to settle for a bathtub that I could not use. Eventually someone named Raveena called me from “operations” and said she was looking into it. I even said - “just give me an immersion rod if possible”
After taking more than 24 hours, and more enquiries from me, we finally settled on them refunding a certain amount (1 night stay) for not delivering on promises (see photo). I thought it was a decent gesture, and accepted it.
When the time came to check out , I enquired about the refund, and I was told “well you stayed for 3 nights , so you have to pay for 3 nights. If you had checked out after 2, we could give you a refund for one day”
I cannot fathom this nonsense. They made promises, didn’t deliver, apologised and said they would make it up to me, and then at the end just said “well sorry, deal with it”
I wouldn’t go back to this property. I don’t think they care about their reputation at all. I’ve attached images of our conversation, luckily a lot of it was on whatsapp. And since this isn’t something that happened only at the property, since their management got involved and still left me with this experience, “Emperor Alaya stays” will always leave a bitter taste...

Words truly fall short when we try to describe our experience at Emperor Resort, Vagator. What we expected was a beautiful vacation spot, but what we found was something much more—a home away from home, and a family we didn’t know we needed.**
We were caught in a difficult situation that could have easily ruined our trip. But the way the staff stood by us, supported us, and helped us in every way imaginable, reminded us that kindness still exists in this world. It wasn’t just hospitality—it was pure, heartfelt care.
A special mention must go to Anshitha at the reception, who was our pillar through it all. Even when there was a mistake in our room booking, she handled it with such calm, grace, and urgency that within minutes everything was sorted. Her reassuring smile, patience, and genuine concern made us feel protected and valued. She didn’t treat us like guests—she treated us like family.
And it wasn’t just her. The entire team—even those whose names we didn’t get to know—were incredibly warm, helpful, and friendly. You could feel the energy of people who love what they do and care deeply about those who walk through their doors.
The property itself is a delight. It’s like stepping into a charming French retreat, complete with lush greenery and stunning décor. The pool is intimate and perfect for both families and friends looking to unwind. The open bar is a paradise of flavors, offering everything from refreshing local drinks to exotic foreign blends. And don’t miss their complimentary breakfast—it's not just filling, it’s fulfilling.
This place has our hearts. From the ambiance to the warmth of the people, everything is a solid 10/10. We left not just with memories, but with gratitude and a longing to return.
Thank you, Emperor Resort. And thank you, Anshitha—you turned our trip into a story we’ll...
Read moreI recently spent four nights at Emperor Ozran by Alaya Stays in North Goa to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it turned out to be a memorable experience. The hotel is small, offering a cozy and intimate atmosphere, but the rooms are quite spacious, giving you the best of both worlds.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by courteous staff who made every effort to make our stay comfortable. Chetan, the manager, was extremely helpful and attentive throughout our stay. I’d also like to extend a special mention to Pearl, Royston, Felisha, and Jit for their exceptional service and warm hospitality.
The suite we stayed in was well-maintained and clean, and it was evident that the hotel pays great attention to details. The breakfast served each morning was delicious, with a good variety to choose from. However, I found the quality of the other meals ordered via room service to be average. As a vegetarian, I understand that finding top-notch vegetarian food in North Goa can be a challenge, so my expectations weren’t too high in this regard.
What stood out to me the most was the personalized attention we received during our stay. Every staff member seemed genuinely invested in making our experience special, which added a unique touch to the celebration. Overall, if you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable stay with spacious rooms and a team that goes the extra mile, Emperor Ozran by Alaya Stays is a great choice. I would certainly recommend it for a relaxing getaway...
