I visited Goa after 6 years. And after visiting the regular places we were looking for a different place for dinner and we ended up visiting Comida Caseira - Homesytle kitchen and bar. And that turned out to be the best decision taken on this trip. Our first order was Butter Garlic French Fries. They tasted very good. Perfect crispy and flavorful. Then we ordered beer battered Prawns. Crispy from outside and soft inside. Then came the fish fingers. Super soft super yummy fish fingers. The last order was " Goa on a plate." It consisted of Goan Chorizo chilly fry, Chicken cafreal , pork vindaloo , Goan poi(soft bread) and rice. I've tried this is for the first time ever. It was really good. Everything was overflowing with the flavors.
We again visited next morning for breakfast. We ordered Kickstarter (English Breakfast) , Ros Omelette ( omelettes with Goan style gravy) , Cheese omelette and French toast. Everything was upto the mark. And the French toast was nothing like I have ever tasted. Perfectly done, Super tender, not too sweet.
And we visited again for dinner. We ordered Lemon butter garlic Squids, and for the first time in my life I did not eat "White Rubber" in the name of squids. They were done so well that it literally melted in my mouth. We ordered prawns again Then we ordered Goan fish curry and Goan paella. I did not have this awesome fish curry in long time. And the paella consisted of squids , prawn , clams curry with rice. It was really awesome. And the last order was Pina colada Panna Cotta. And creme caramel.
"Comida Caseira - Homesytle kitchen and bar". They really do justice to this name . They really make you feel at home. I would like to Thank Team Comida for their amazing food and wonderful...
Read moreIf you're on the lookout for a place that offers a delightful combination of excellent cocktails and mouthwatering food, Ida Kitchen and Bar is the spot to be. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
The cocktails here are nothing short of spectacular. Each drink is carefully crafted with unique ingredients that make them stand out from the usual offerings you'd find elsewhere. The flavors are bold, fresh, and surprisingly well-balanced—it's clear that the bartenders at Ida take pride in their craft. I highly recommend trying their signature cocktails, as they’re truly one-of-a-kind.
As for the food, the fish curry rice is an absolute showstopper. The curry was rich and aromatic, with just the right amount of spice that danced on the palate. The fish was perfectly cooked, flaky and tender, and it paired beautifully with the fragrant rice. Every bite was a burst of flavors—definitely a dish worth coming back for.
What truly elevated the experience was the service. Mozes and Karan were exceptional in every way. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure our needs were met without being overbearing. Their recommendations on both the cocktails and the food were spot on, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening.
Ida Kitchen and Bar is a gem—whether you’re looking to enjoy a great cocktail, savor some incredible food, or simply have a great time with excellent service, this place has it...
Read moreDon't you just love it when you stumble across a place like @idagoa which has that rustic but cozy ambience with some lovely mellow acoustic covers of some famous songs playing in the background, with a friendly owner like Sean looking after you and that amazing Goan food to go with it with the choicest of cocktails. This place ticked all the right boxes that a good restaurant should have.
So we decided to taste all their specials available in the menu. For starters we had their Peri Peri Frango Skewers served with chilly lime potatoes and sauted veggies, and Lemon Butter Garlic Prawns which came with a side of prawn wafers. We followed this up with Chimichuri Squids cooked in sauce made up of lot of parsley, garlic and olive oil. For the mains we had their Grandma's coastal curry which was a prawns cooked in tamarind and onion infused coconut curry and was lipsmackingly good. They even give an option of Mahi Mahi fish instead of Prawns.
The owner was sweet enough to offer us a custom made cocktail of Vodka, made with ginger, lime and orange juice which was refreshing to say the least.
Overall a great experience and one place I will definitely visit again to try all the other...
