The website makes this hotel look A LOT better than it really is and the description of it as an "Alice in Wonderland experience" is a huge exaggeration to say the least. We booked a "Deluxe Cottage" which in reality was a small dark room with a tiny window, had no mosquito nets (these were provided in other places we stayed in India) and there were bugs in the bedroom and bathroom (the rooms were supposedly "neat and airy"). The towels provided looked like they had been left there by the last guest. They insisted on keeping our passports overnight in order to make a photocopy which didn't make us feel very safe at all. ||The beach was meant to be a "walk down the village path" but in reality this road leads to a part of the beach which is un-equipped and you have to climb over rocks to get to the main part. There is another route through overgrown grassland which is not such a pleasant walk and Vagator beach, where it is located, is nothing to write home about.||We were there in high season and paid a very high price for the room but we thought this was standard for the season. We soon realised when we arrived that there were much better properties right on the beach and a lot cheaper for the same period. We booked 6 nights in this hotel in advance and were forced to pay up the full amount front weeks before arrival.. that should have been a warning sign! We felt cheated and were so disappointed with the place that we left after the first night without any refund. ||We stayed in 7 hotels on our trip to India and the level of this hotel compared to the others was much, much lower and...
