Nestled in the posh Candolim area, but set in a quiet lane off the Candolim main road, De Mandarin Goa is a 58-room modern hotel barely a five-minute walk to the nearest Candolim beach. I was staying at a different hotel in the vicinity and was not happy with services so I decided to find another accommodation for the rest of my trip. I was glad I found a hotel like De Mandarin Goa at the right price and with world class amenities and services. I stayed on a solo trip at De Mandarin Goa Hotel for five days in February 2022. The rooms in the hotel are all very modern and very classily designed. The bed has a hard top which makes sleeping on it a good experience. The linen's are all pristine white and of finest quality ,so are the toiletries. The room was spacious with alot of sunlight during the day. But the highlight of the room is the balcony. The breakfast spread was very lavish with atleast 6 different varieties from all over India. So you have the South Indian regular dishes like Upma, Medu vada, idlis, seviya upma, poha and north Indian dishes likes puri and dahi aloo sabji, aloo parathas . Then you had the regular dishes like boiled eggs, freshly cut fruits, fresh fruit juices, Egg omelets of your choice, tea/ coffee, fruit cake slices. The hotel has an amazing swimming pool on the roof top with a beautiful sea view. Special thanks to the staff in F&B Service Ajay Hedena, Front office & Guest Relations Vehana Fernandes and Assistant F&B Manager Vishnu M for making my stay a memorable one with their care and attention. I feel that De Mandarin Goa not only fulfilled but actually exceeded all my expectations. I had a great time and hope to...

Our stay at De Mandarin Hotel, Goa was nothing short of a nightmare. Right from day one, the room had a strong, unpleasant smell, and we couldn’t figure out why until the next morning – there was visible fungus coming out of the walls. This completely ruined our stay. While the hotel staff did eventually change our room, it was too late. We were exhausted and stuck with them due to booking through a package deal on MMT, otherwise we would’ve checked out immediately.
This hotel is absolutely not kid-friendly. We tried to order a simple plain dal khichdi for our 2-year-old son around 10:45 p.m. as we were outside and requested it to be placed in the room. What we found when we got back was shocking – they had used leftover spicy rice and dal, with onion and garlic, completely unsuitable for a toddler. Our child had to sleep hungry, and we had to scramble to arrange something ourselves. Completely unacceptable and pathetic service.
The buffet breakfast was another disaster. Due to too many guests, they moved it into a closed banquet hall with no ventilation. They were preparing egg dishes right there in the same room, and the entire place stank of eggs and oil – extremely off-putting and unhygienic.
All in all, this place is overrated and poorly managed. Definitely not worth the hype or the money. Avoid at all costs, especially if you are traveling with kids or expecting basic hygiene...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel De Meridian during a short trip to Dhaka, and I must say — I was genuinely impressed!
From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warmth and professionalism. The airport shuttle service was punctual and convenient, making my arrival stress-free. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk team made me feel welcome right away.
The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the essentials. I particularly enjoyed the balcony view, and the air conditioning worked perfectly — which was a big plus in the Dhaka heat! The jetted tub in the bathroom added a lovely touch of comfort after a long day.
One of the highlights was the rooftop terrace — perfect for a peaceful evening. The in-house restaurant served delicious food, and I appreciated the variety in the breakfast buffet. Their 24/7 room service was quick and reliable, which really added to the comfort of the stay.
The location is ideal — close to the airport and within reach of shops and cafes, yet tucked away enough to feel quiet and relaxed.
Overall, Hotel De Meridian offers great value for money, excellent service, and all the comforts a traveler could ask for. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Dhaka, whether for business or leisure. Looking forward to staying here...
