ZERO STAR and running business on Fraud and Forgery
Down Da Village team forged our advance money (paid to owner : Mauger DSouza) booked in Aug '22 and they simply denied the room / booking during check-in Dec'22 even if we had a proper voucher with GST details signed by Mauger Dsouza. We arrived at the hotel little early morning 9am as we were assured a temp room will be allocated for our infants. They made us waiting for 3 hours without a single room and finally we were allotted a dirty room to accomodate 5 adults and 2 infants though booking was made for Family Suite 2BRs.
When challenged why a single room instead of a Family Suite 2BRs, they mentioned such setup doesn't exist at all. And it was a mistake from owner that he did the booking without knowing his own property (smile please). People we dealt with their misbehaviours - Ravi (Goa Gateway), Bikash Sahooand Pranay Bhatacharya and they have a team of trained fraudsters who are used to of cheating / forging / denying rooms to people on a daily basis. Not only us, there were other families and groups who were denied rooms even after booking through goibibo, mmt etc. asking them to deal with websites to get their rooms. It seemed they were overbooked, unmanaged bookings, took all the money and then failing to fulfil their promises.
A clear case of fraud and forgery where the booker (owner : Mauger DSouza) himself never bothered to pickup the phone after multiple calling and left us at the mercy of his traiined staffs who are paid to misbehave with guests. Finally, we were shifted to a oyo lodge property (same owner) called "Golden Rice" and another disaster a goon (Anjani Pathak) with his keep was witing to lootofy guests with 100% payment during check-in. This property too was hell, more like a bachelor stay lodge, untidy, stinking washrooms, no toiletries and worst behaviour like bullying, insulting, threats to get beaten etc. are experienced.
So, whether you are a family or a bachelor group - if you dont want to get cheated / forged / bluffed or deal with fraudsters and later in other property get threatened, bullied, insulted, fight with drunk pig in the middle of the night - STAY AWAY FROM "DOWN DA VILLAGE" and...
Read moreHorrible Experience at Down Da Goa Village Hotel and AGODA Our stay at Down Da Goa Village Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare, worsened by the poor service from AGODA. We had booked a deluxe room a month in advance through AGODA, expecting a comfortable and hassle-free experience. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the room we booked was unavailable. Instead of providing us with a better room, the hotel downgraded us to a dingy, subpar room near a storage area where the watchman and guards were stationed, along with their belongings and water supplies. The condition of the room was utterly unacceptable: The AC was not working, making it unbearable in Goa's humid weather. The washrooms were filthy and clearly not maintained. The walls were leaking, and the overall room was damp and unpleasant. The provided mini fridge was rusted, adding to the already miserable state of the room. When we confronted the receptionist about the room's terrible condition compared to the images shown on the AGODA site, we were casually told that the pictures are old and do not reflect the current state of the hotel. This response was not only unprofessional but also felt like a deliberate attempt to mislead potential guests. Given that we arrived late at night, we had no option but to stay, and the hotel staff blatantly took advantage of our situation. It was evident that they had no regard for customer satisfaction or professional standards. AGODA, on the other hand, was equally disappointing. Despite booking a month in advance, they failed to ensure that the hotel honored our reservation. They offered no support or solution during the ordeal, leaving us stranded in an unacceptable situation. This experience was an...
Read moreAvoid this place. The 1 star is only because there isn't a way to rate this place a 0. We booked two rooms and were explicitly told that there would be two double beds in each room which with a few extra mattresses would be suitable for 12 people. We get to the place at 12pm which was supposed to the check-in time and the rooms still weren't ready. We waited for a while and eventually one of the guys who worked there came down with the keys to our room. We walk up three floors to get to our room. Their guy opens the room and we see a double bed in the room and another one in the inner room. This would mean that most i.e 8 of 12 people would have to sleep on mattresses and there wasno freakin way they were gonaa manage to fit 8 mattresses in the left over floor space. area Disappointed with the rooms, we went down to talk to the receptionist. This guy just wouldn't listen to us. He would say "I don't run this place. Call the person who booked this place for you." We tried doing that and conveniently at that very time that person's both phone numbers were either busy or kept ringing. We were left with no choice but to take the room we were given as we had already paid an advance amount of 50% of the total amount. We had to pay extra swimming pool charges for using the pool. Now, we get back to the room and find out that there won't be any water till 5. There isn't any complimentary drinking water provided. To top it all off, there were about 3-4 power cuts during our stay of 2 night at this place. The receptionist has the worst attitude that i have seen anywhere so far. I would suggest you to spend a little bit more and trust...
