I have travelled across the country and as a journalist I have interacted extensively with every type of hotel managements but I dont remember of having encountered such bad experience from a hotel manager as I faced yesterday at this hotel. After a late night flight, myself and 8 family members arrived at the hotel by 1 am, tired and sleepy. Almost 10 minutes went by to locate the manager as the reception area was locked. Since the booking was through #oyo the manager was telephonically informed and at 1.15 am he walked in with a grumpy attitude. Not once did he say or behaved that depicted we were welcome to the hotel (it was already informed the guests will come after midnight) At 1.25 am he said he would need ID proof of all the 9 members and this has to be WhatsApped to hotel number. We all did this promptly. As he was jotting the details in the register, my brother in law asked him whether the ladies and children can go to the room while himself and my husband will stay back for further process. The manager outrightly said No, the way he responded was startling . His demeanour from the beginning was rude. He lacked empathy and politeness was too much to ask. Irritated with the attitude he was throwing for anything, I voiced my concern and said that he was extremely ill mannered to be making every guest wait even when two are volunteering to be present. The man instead of understanding went about saying he will not tolerate such behavior and he is abiding by the rules and has taken only 5 minutes etc etc. By this time it's already 1.45 am. When my husband asked for his name (mannerless person that he was never introduced himself) he said if you intend to complain, vice versa will be done from his end. He apparently doesn't care about what we felt.
The icing on the cake of the saga 3 rooms alloted were on the 3rd floor and there is no lift. Expecting the manager to help or assist was out of question neither did he offer. we ourselves had to lug the bags to the room. The rooms are clean and decent but the manager is not fit to be in hospitality sector.
During registration we realized that mentioning the number of guests doesnt mean extra bedding will be provided. When it was said that whatever extra charges is applicable for the required beds, the manager once again decided to behave like an authoritarian. He said things don't work just by throwing money, for extra bedding it has to be informed beforehand. He even went about showcasing his benevolence by stating that he has allotted one large room considering there are children... But creating drama for asking extra bedding and making guests wait unwantedly is being...
Read moreThe location is great. Rooms are ok. Service is awful. Staff let themselves into my room when I stayed at a friend's, ate my food, stole my charger and medication. When I told the reception staff they flat out refused to believe me until I spoke to the manager on the phone. Then my charger was returned to me with no apology or reason for why the cleaning staff had taken it. Another guest then told me he saw one of the cleaners still his smokes and room key. Don't book...
