White Wood Resort, Morjim — Hotel in Goa

The place seemed fine, the room size and basic amenities seemed adequate... but was big turn off on service and cleanliness of the place... for e.g. the reception guys ni matter even if th hey are sitting inside the room behind reception, will not bother to answer calls, even if the phones are ringing endlessly... the room service guys would put the phone receiver down as and not take calls pretending to be busy and by any chance if someone does get through and ask for something, it's a no show... was travelling with infant, and when asked to wash the lunch box of infant, no one would come only!!! They will then try to convince you that please ask restaurant guys... the restaurant guys seemed sub contractor and was busy running restaurant operations and would serve food with love and preparation also was good. But then they also refused washing and cleaning saying its job of room service guys... so basically everyone was in a way washing of their hands and trying to rule out for another team and no one came to rescue, finally had to bribe some fellows to get the job done. Brought the matter to notice of reception guys but they had nothing to say and just said will check and look into the same. In all the property is small, so its sweet and simple, pool is cleaned on regular basis but hygiene standards inside the rooms were very low, coz of clogged and smelly bathrooms and spider webs everywhere and one or two cockroaches as well... the furniture inside the room is very sharp on edges so kids have to avoid playing inside the room but overall it's a good property in the vicinity... but yes hotel staff is not friendly and completely non cooperative and would make no effort to correct themselves. May be the presence of owner might just work but still its miles apart from basic care, like no tissues in rooms, no fresheners, etc. The star rating is completely for food served from the restaurant and property view and daily...

Stayed at this resort for 2 days. Waste of money and extremely frustrating ... here's why: Food: The food is awful. It is prepared by interns, so half-cooked food, omelettes which seem like they have been assembled, etc. are high possibilities. The onion parantha in particular was disgusting. Tasted like poop in a parantha. If you're okay being a guinea pig, you definitely wouldn't mind paying money to be experimented on. WiFi: No proper connectivity in the rooms. If the reception is asked, they will play a YouTube video in the reception area and tell you that there's nothing wrong with the connection. If you call them multiple times, they agree to look into it to buy themselves time to do absolutely nothing about it. Swimming pool: It's a kids' pool. Not possible for adults to swim there as it isn't deep enough. Huge disappointment. Rude staff: The staff bills you incorrectly for room service and then forces you to sign the bill as an acknowledgement. If you refuse, they tell you that it can't be changed and that you need to order something else for the amount to be adjusted. Toiletries and towels aren't kept in the room proactively. Strangely enough, they don't clean the rooms as per the guest's convenience, but as per the resort schedule. Spa: This is a "Resort and "Spa" and guess what?! The spa isn't functional. The staff don't even inform you of this when you're booking your room, so that you can make an informed decision. There are other better resorts for the similar price with better amenities in the area. This resort is definitely not recommended. I wouldn't make the mistake of...

Review in short- Dont come with expectations Rooms may not be that hygienic. Avoid breakfast. Lunch/dinner are good. Room service takes time until you connect to them.

Detailed experience- I stayed there during the rainy season. My room intercom wasn't working which is still understandable considering that telephone lines do get snapped during the rains, though, in reality they just slept over the issue despite my having pointed that out the previous evening.

The frustrating part came where they wont even do their routine job of replenishing essentials like drinking water, soap, etc. despite knowing of my room's dysfunctional intercom and the rains preventing me from doing rounds to the reception for each request.

And, if they also tell you that they wont provide drinking water unless it is requested, then one is really forced to regret having stayed here. I obviously did not want to be running to the reception for 'things' and then be told how things worked.

To kill whatever remained, my room also had a choked washroom sink and plastic and cigarette litter in front of the room veranda. Honestly, I would have ignored everything but for the dysfunctional intercom, them sleeping over it despite my complaint, and, non...
