We will divide our stay in Pros and Cons- Cons - 1) Rooms - We stayed at Villa 6 and found the room pretty average, the television was not working properly, room was pretty dark ( you can install one more light ) , Dirty bedsheets, pillows and towels with yellow patches. The water bottles provided had their seals broken so we decided not to use them. The person cleaning the room just rinsed the room glasses with tap water and we could smell the whiskey from it , so thats pretty pathetic. The coffee machine in room had a bad smell like it is never washed. 2) Cost Vs Value - So you are basically paying INR 7-8000 for rooms that pretty average and dirty. We did not find the value for money at all. We have stayed at Novotel, Bay15, Larissa Resort, and we find them much more better. 3) Amenities - So our room horror continues with no usable stuff like a disposable razor , brush , etc available. Ohh !!! Did we mention that they charge you Rs. 50 for a razor while they shamelessly take prices starting 6000 - 7000/ room. 4) Food - Well first of all, the food is overly priced. We ordered a chicken pasta which was disappointing both in terms of quantity and quality so we did not have anything from the restaurant for the rest of our 2 days stay. 5) Staff - Ohh yes !!! Even if you check in late, they do not have the rooms ready and then they give u dirty rooms. Pros- 1) Ambience - The beach is nested right on Morjim Beach and has taken full advantage of the space with villas and beach dining options. Final Thought - 1) Will we go again ? No 2)Do we recommend ? Go and try once , if u have bags of money and dont care anything else. 3) Advice to management ? Work on rooms, food and pricing. Atleast ensure that BedSheets and towels dont have yellow patches.

This is a detailed review . The entrance to this place could prove out to be very tricky so please watch out for boards on your left , you'll see a BIG M on your left . The location of this place is great - the hotel is right on the beach , the beach is very clean and not very crowded at day time , during sun set you might see more people than usual . It has a good sitting arrangement at the beach so you'll be at peace . Staff - some of them are pretty rude like a guy who works during breakfast , i would say he's pretty rude and doesn't listen to guests. Won't even listen to guest, when told to clean the table after someone's breakfast he didn't do it for about 5-8 mins then finally came . The breakfast is good not exceptional, trust be it'll be the only meal you'll have here Because the RATE OF FOOD IS MORE THAN TAJ , all main course starting from 600rs plus . Simple coffe is about 330 rs which is more than 5 star hotels . Just go outside for having food you'll see plenty of joints outside. The room was very clean and spacious , well made but we booked 2 rooms one of AC was not working at all and they didn't anything about it for about 1 day . Otherwise bathroom is good but hot water supply at all times . This place has one pool which is decent sized but not very eye appealing, IT HAS NO GYM But has spa services which are obviously over priced . The place sometimes looks like an abandoned hotel because maintenance of some areas are just not up to the mark. One of the receptionist , she was very helpful and kind , one of the only people who actually care for their guests.. otherwise some of the staff ' s behaviour is as if they are doing you a favour .

Location and overall aesthetics of the resort are very good. The rooms are not maintained well. The flooring is cracked and stained and you are simply told the interior designer wanted a 'rustic look'. The staff are very pleasant and do their best to make you comfortable. Breakfast is not fancy but you have a pretty wholesale set of options. Eggs to order, fresh fruit, something indian both north indian and south Indian options. Not much in terms of bakery options but you will get your basics and the view of the beach is simply stunning. I recommend you carry your book and Sun screen and make the most of the pretty, shades cabanas with big beds looking out on the sea. The pool is a decent enough one, the only downer is it is very close to the resort's party area. And there is constantly some electro music playing. If that's your thing, enjoy! When the sun is down, you can walk to Ashwin beach . There's a lot of water sports, including para sailing available. The food at the resort is surprisingly well made, even thin crust pizza. The happening part of the area is a short walk away, tho not something I'd advise the single woman traveller to do alone at night as the short 400 m stretch is pitch black and a little scary. However I was assured the area is quite safe. There's a lot of live music, food options in and around this stretch, from Italian, Tibetan, goan to the ubiquitous thaali joints that seem to have overtaken Goa. I'd repeat this resort for all the plus points, rustic look notwithstanding.

This is regarding our recent experience at Marbela Beach resort in Morjim, Goa.

For the weekend I had been to goa with a best buddy accompanied with better halves and two daughters .... We have been to Goa many a times and had decided to checkin and enjoy at the most heard resort Marbela. In fact, we had actually planned few Months ago itself when we were nearby, that the next trip to Goa will be with Marbela, But little did we know that, it will be the worst experience!

So with much excitement we reached Marbela at around 1:30pm. Kids were hungry and so were we couples too..

We thought of checking in first and then enjoy the serenity of Goa. But we were quite disappointed when we were asked to wait in the lounge at least for an hour, as they said it will take 1 full hour to get the rooms ready for us. We thought it must be their routine so we decided to wait.

Since everyone was hungry we decided to have the lunch in the meanwhile. To our surprise, we were not entertained for long time. Nobody even came to us to get the order. We requested the waiters who were very busy with the foreigners but they simply asked us to wait! Nobody cared to come and just accept the order forget serving the tired and hungry families... We tried to have a word with staff but all were quite arrogant and neglected our call. Even we tried complaining to the so-called restaurant manager who was Busy with his Cell phone. But we were even shocked to get more arrogant and rough replies from him. We were shocked enough to hear him say very rudely, if you wish to check-in wait till my people finish their work else go away! And we left our jaws dropped when he said that if we complain he will ask his guards to throw we two couple with our daughters out of the hotel!

What the hell was that! We never had such rude and unprofessional encounter in the hospitality industry in any of our experience be it within India or overseas.

This type of hospitality was never expected from the renowned brand like Marbela resort

I wish to say only one thing, please don't do this to anybody. This is not the way to talk to families coming to you.

Shame on you people and shame on the...

Dirty rooms & Bathrooms - dusty floor, cupboards, hair in the bathroom, dirty sink Dirty Ceiling !!! This one is shocking, it appears that food was thrown up to the ceiling & has left stains Killed Cockroaches & centipedes daily. Am I in Goa or the some jungle !! Cups in my room are washed & cleaned with my discarded towels !!! This is madness considering that we drink tea/coffee from those cups They play extremely loud noise (according to them, its music) from noon till midnight every night. On Fri, Sat, Sun & on Tuesday (Diwali) night, they were selling tickets for a night party & played extremely loud music till 4.00 am. How did they expect their guests to sleep at night is is anyone's guess. The Swimming Pool has a layer of white (looks like diluted foam from a foam party) that was not cleaned from the pool for the entire duration of my stay (From Friday Till Wednesday) Morjim Beach is wonderful. This is the best feature here & no credit to Marbela here, this is nature at its best. The boys in the restaurant provide good service & Cassiano stands out for his exemplary customer service oriented attitude. He was just wonderful. The plates were chipped in the restaurant. The tents facing the beach were all RUSTED. They expect to attract guests by playing LOUD music every night. Not sure if they think they are Tito's. Guests are surrounded by many more restaurants that has seating on the beach with better lighting. That is what attracts more guests for dinner, not a dark dingy place playing loud party music with no beach side sitting. They did not care for their guests Sleep at night or even in the afternoon, all they ever CARED about was their loud GOD DAMN music !! There is no dedicated discotheque, so no room in the resort is spared from the loud music. They will lie to you that your room will not get the music, EVERY ROOM will hear that LOUD MUSIC.

I only recommend this place for Drunk...
