Sibaya Beach Resort — Hotel in Goa

Don't go by the pictures from their site. Attached beach front lounge SAZ is managed separately and they don't let Sibaya customers to sit in their area. Sadly, Sibaya has only way to approach beach is through SAZ lounge. This property does not have any beach front room as they mention on their site. below are cons of this property - off location, far from main morjim and market area. Parking on a separate ground on your own risk with no security. Rooms are highly rated, you may get much more value for money rooms at the same price in the same area. Staff doesn't value their customers, don't get surprised if they are rude to you. Only option you will have to eat is at their place as its far from other restaurants and market area. so, they are going to charge you alot for that with no reason. Sibaya says that they have beach access through their restaurant by the time you book this place and when you will access the restaurant, they will ask you to leave saying - SAZ is managed by different management and Sibaya's customer are not allowed to use it.

IF "SAZ is a part of SIBAYA" - WHY SAZ staff had asked us NOT to access the area? WHY Sibaya receptionist was speechless when we told them that there is a SAZ staff asking us to leave the area as SAZ and SIBAYA is not managed by same management and SIBAYA customers are not allowed to sit and use the area?

Yes, we did not even check-in to the room after the insult faced and experiencing bad hospitality. I asked Sibaya receptionist either go and talk to SAZ management as they had insulted us else cancel my booking and refund. He was clearly afraid to go and talk to SAZ management and agreed to cancel for free. For me, this was not at all pros, your staff was left with no other option. It was us who had followed up with Agoda and your team to make it happen.

if SIBAYA team has done investigation, then should be aware which staff has misbehaved during our visit and who was on reception, refused to talk to SAZ management after the incident happened.

and lastly, thank you for judging my eyesight. I will make sure never going back again to your property as I don't want to ruin my vacation again.

This hotel looks so beautiful when you look at the pictures. So I booked it for a stay in the month of June for myself and my 11 year old daughter. The ambience and rooms looked absolutely stunning. I paid 50% as advance and secured my booking but when I reached there, the experience was horrifying. Absolutely unkept property, such filthy surroundings and rooms were cramped and dirty. The bathrooms were awful. And the staircase that you take to go to rooms were so so dirty. I visited the rooms myself first to check and left my daughter at the reception cause looking at the surrounding made me feel so bad that I already got skeptical. When I visited the property inside and the rooms, I knew I can't keep my daughter in such filthy place so I told them clearly that I can't stay here because of how dirty this property is and it is completely opposite to what it's shown in pictures and asked my family back on Delhi to look for another hotel for us while I was trying to get my refund basis the poorest quality of the hotel. They clearly denied my request and asked me to put up there. I couldn't stay so I thought I'll right now focus on my trip and my daughter and get the refund once I'm home. We booked ourselves at Fairfield by Marriott Anjuna and left the place for which I had to pay for taxi twice which itself is a huge cost in Goa. We had a decent stay at Marriott cause the last minute I couldn't find anything better than that. I came back and emailed them for my refund and they clearly denied again. So they charged me for a stay which I couldn't use because of the unkept and unhygienic place that they have.

My request to the hotel, please put the real pictures instead of showing something heavenly. Your property is ugly. Also, to the travelers, please do not book this property because it's just not worth anything. You can book much better places in the same amount of money and much better reachable properties. What these guys are doing is a complete scam by showing beautiful property and giving you the shadiest place you can ever stay at.

Absolute NO NO to Sibaya...

An honest, unbiased review of the property. I dont want to write deep story about what happened, rather I would put them in points. my intention of this review is not to drive away your property guests, but to give them a fair overview of the property that they are going to invest for their pleasant vacation.

I have a long story here, my stay here did not go well at all for many reasons. However, I would simply focus on below pointers to help you decide.

Pros:

1. They have lower end rooms called "Tropical Cottages" They are good.
2. Tropical cottages are cheaper than the premium or sea facing rooms.
3. Close proximity of Morjim beach.
4. Not all, but I have to mention Ms. Priya at the front desk for her courteous, caring attitude towards the hotel guests. She was very accommodative to help me downgrade my room, However no refund offered, That's ok.

Cons:

1. Very foul smell in the bathroom at Room No. 401
2. Their premium rooms on the ground floor has no privacy at all.
3. Canopy outside the rooms for rainy season makes the room dark and stuffy.
4. Sunlight does not enter your room, if you are specially in 102, 104 as I visited and denied to onboard these rooms as it felt like dark dungeon.
5. No windows in the room, door = window too. Sacrifice your privacy if you need fresh air.
6. There is an amateur restaurant manager called "Ajit" at the wooden deck, who has no common sense to inform guests if their dinner ordered is delayed, I had to wait 90 minutes to get my dinner with 2 reminder calls and then ended up returning the entire order as the order was missing from my order and couldn't wait for another 90 minutes to get the remaining order.
7. Room service at the wooden deck restaurant sucks! it really does!
