Riva Boutique Apartment — Hotel in Goa

This hotel is not at all what it looks in pictures. Hotel management is very casual as if they are doing to favour to guest. Everyone seems very dull here. I was here from 22nd morning till 26th december and pool was not working. Staff is very casual no welcoming or pampering. Nobody even smiles at you when you pass from reception. Receptionist is very suspective kind of person monitoring everyone like a gorrila always looking for excuses to bug you mainly for money. Never seen any hotel asking for money everyday. They have kept a card on reception braging about their ratings but if you ask me they dont even deserve even a single star. They do not provide a quilt or blanket for any extra bedding, you have to ask for everything from cleaning to water bottels. Rooms are very small and have big water patches on walls. Morning breakfast is below average, food was not served fresh and hot. Aaalo Parantha was poorly stuffed and only packaged juices(minutemade) are served instead of fresh one. Even in peak season pool was not working it was not fixed even in 5 days of our stay besides mutiple reminders. If you say anything to staff they will reply "i am not responsible for all this talk to Sir(receptionist)". Hotel is very far from beach 13 km from vagator and around 9 km from Calangute. Even if you complain about anything receptionist will start giving excuses instead of accepting and making stay joyfull for customers. Hotel stay was the most disappinting part of my visit to goa. The amount hotel is carging for rooms is not justified for such untrained and unprofessional staff & service. This place is a new construction just off the road from Panaji to Calangute/Baga beaches. This place is close to Panaji than it is to the main north goa beaches. It is a good half hour drive to any of the beaches. Half hour might sound like it's not much but it does make a lot of difference in experiencing Goa.

Coming to the place in itself, the rooms are spacious and well appointed with basic amenities and is also provided with utensils to make yourself a meal (I wonder who would want to do that in Goa!). Check-in is at 2pm and check out is at 11am. Requested for a check out at 12pm and was outrightly denied. Otherwise it's a hassle free process.

The pool in the hotel is just too small. It's more for the aesthetics than for actually taking a dip. All guests are provided free breakfast which is a very very limited spread. The cut fruits that were kept had a blanket of flies feasting on them, so we skipped them for good on both the days we stayed there.

The place is located near Porvorim highway which is close to Panaji city and Mapuça city. Even though it's located nearby to the highway the place is secluded and is away from all the pollution. Restaurants and other hotels are nearby. So even if you do not have a vehicle you can walk it out across the street and find something to eat. Even past 12:00 am. The Staff are very friendly and kind. They're helpful. The place serves free breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. I missed out on the breakfast part but hope y'all don't.. They serve Poha, Omelette, Toasts, Bread and butter, corn flakes, Tea and Coffee just the usual but again it's free so do make full use of it. The room that I was living in had a TV in the bedroom, I didn't mind that because I usually spent my time in the bedroom chilling it out. The room also has a mini refrigerator to keep your booze you can also get your own food and everything. Parking is available near the hotel property. The bathroom area is clean and well hygienic.
