Went for an early weekday lunch, to this restaurant in Porvorim, (down the slope road, from Navtara restaurant); as heard so much about this place. Seating is on 2 floors, today could sit on G.floor, being weekday. Drinks: Uraak, with all its accompliments. Snacks: Clams in coconut (true taste of clams, as no overpowering spices), & 'Muddoxeo' (lady fish) rava fried - a seasonal local fish, super fresh, though abit stiffly priced @Rs 850. & 'Kalundra' (very local seasonal fish) rava fried - nice. Entrée: Chonak special fish thali, with 'fat rice' @340 - Nice! (but definitely not "exceptional" as claimed to be). Dessert: Caramel pudding (they call it 'egg' pudding!) - v.authentic, must try! Parcel: Crab sukha. Service (by Vinayak) was v good. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Parking opp & side of road, around the restaurant. Would recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable meal, especially for their seafood! Note: on my 2nd visit, we tried upstairs. Its ac, but more like a insipid hall setting; would definitely prefer the atmosphere on the ground floor. 3rd visit - another good experience! Starters: Bombil - tasty, though 4 tiny pcs @Rs 350 appeared pricey. Velho rava fried - good. Mackerel tava fried - good. Prawns rava fried - okay. Noticed its peaceful 12 noon to 1pm, thereafter fills up fast!, so plan...

This place is away from the regular traffic and is little inside but way to locate. There direction boards to guide. It’s is best suited for family dinners. One should know that it’s always crowded so try to be early. There is allotted space for customers in waiting list at the entrance since the place is always crowded. This place is very known for fish. The fish thali is stomach filling. They offer an option for brown rice or white rice if you choose to eat the thali. For starters we had ordered chicken lollypop, fish rava fry ( chonak; tamso and mussels), prawn and squid golden fry. The crab tandoor is really yummy. Since I have been to this place many a times, I have tasted most of the dishes. I have always found the fish fresh and tasty. They serve a good menu. Also there are good options in drinks. The staff is very nice and quick. They are very welcoming and enthusiastic. They provide good service. • Trip type: Friends • Service: 4.5 • Locatiion: 4.0 • Hotel highlights: Big place with many tables. • Walkability: Enough Parking area. • Food &...
Read moreWanted to try a Fish Thali from a local haunt near Porvorim and got highly recommended to visit Sai Krupa. I was so tired of going to Copperleaf all the time and wanted to try something new and this was a delicious discovery. It's a family friendly restaurant located slightly on the interiors and you will find lots of Goan locals visiting this place than tourists and that kinda gives a stamp for its taste. We tried the special Fish Thali here and ordered Rawa Fried Xinaneo (mussels) and Prawns and some lime soda to wash it all off. The special thali comes with Prawns curry, local boiled rice (the ghaunti rice) and a fillet of fried modso fish. All the items on the plate were tum and we finished it clean. The only drawback was that the portions were way smaller than we thought. The xinaneo was the best of the lot and was cooked to perfection. Prawns were a bit oily for...
