Firstly, I have to give a massive shoutout to Abhay and the incredible staff at this hostel. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay is nothing short of amazing. The level of attention and care they provide is truly commendable.

And let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, it's absolutely amazing.

Originally, I planned to stay at this hostel for just a week, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with the place. I ended up extending my stay for a whole month! Why? Well, apart from the cozy and comfortable accommodations, it's the people I've met here that have made all the difference. I've made incredible friends from all walks of life, and the sense of community and camaraderie is simply unmatched.

Now, let's talk business. If you're a freelancer or someone who values the perfect work-life balance, look no further. This hostel is hands down the best place to work from. The atmosphere is conducive to productivity, the Wi-Fi is reliable, and there are cozy nooks and vibrant communal spaces where you can set up your workspace. Rootsvilla is located in a lovely spot... away from the shor in the city and yet, right in the middle of it. Honestly, there is a huge scope of improvement. And that done, it would exponentially improve the experience. Please fix the washrooms, the tap in the wash basin trickles just so... I don't want my brush touching surfaces every time i need to wash it. Hot water? There is a switch but thats about it. And pee has more force than that shower. It is rare to find such big showers these days, you've got them... make them good. Breakfast: We didn't opt for it but out friends did. And it took forever to get... Poha doesn't take that long. :P We appreciate you want us to remove shoes at the entrance. Give us some place to sit and remove them. Stock your fridge with beers. IT IS GOA!!!! WE ALL WANT BEERS!!! It is rude that we were told that we are very old for hostel stay... trust me... we are the best hosteliers you will see... we know hostel life... we've lived it when mobiles phones were not yet invented and backpacking and hippie life was at its best. Kids today don't know Hostel life like we did. People born in the 80's are your true customers...

Having said that, I must say, the common area on the 1st floor is absolutely beautiful. We spent and entire evening there and it was such a relaxing mood to be in.

If you have booked the place for a group of 6-7 people for tour purpose then this place is not for you. I have stayed with my girls for 5 days and 4 nights here and here is my review. Bad toilets - stinks, not cleaned, taps not working Host- there is no host only a bunch of volunteers , they are not helpful towards guests. We wanted to do direct booking but they told us booking is only done online and when we asked if we will get a room with attached washroom the person behind the call said it is in his hands to allot the rooms. When we arrived at the hostel, they gave us a smaller room with little to no space ( unlike the ones in the photos) and no attached washroom. They asked us to use the common shared washroom which were in a very bad condition. When we asked to get us a room with attached washroom they said you have booked this online only we can not help you. The staffs are not co operative at all. They are money minded. Smokes are everywhere in the hostel. If you are a non smoker then this place is not for you. The volunteers have acquired the good rooms and the bad rooms are allotted to the guests who live for short period of time. Tea/ coffee was complimentary with breakfast but when we asked the cook to make us coffee he replied very rudely and said - Pehle nahi bata sakte the ?
