Read moreI had a very bad experience in Darvish, while all my lovely friends loved this place and recommended to me also: âsuch nice kebabs are thereâ. 18th November we came for dinner with my friends, everyone ordered kebabs or other meet, and for me they made beans, because Iâm vegetarian. When I tried it was so strange taste, but I donât know how itâs should be, because I never tried this style kitchen. It was too vinegary, like acetous. My friend, who invited us there, he is from Iran, and he said that they are put there dry lemons maybe they put too much, he didnât like the taste also. Everyone tried little bit, nobody liked. I was thinking to give it back, but I thought I shouldnât, was mixing with rise and bread to make it edible. So , I didnât eat something else in that evening. After 5 hours I felt so hard poisoning, I didnât sleep, I went to the doctor 3 times, any medicines didnât work , I felt too bad, I got 2 injections, helped me for 1 hour only. Then I went to hospital Vision, doctor said that itâs so hard food poisoning, and when they start injecting antibiotics I started breath normally. It was for 3 days. One of us also was vomiting that night. The one and main thing which is impossible to understand for me that: when my Iranian friend called them, the owner said that food was fresh, and I have allergies of beans. No tries to even know what happened with me . I ate beans million times in my life, I have no any allergies. You can be sure that it was poisoning from your food, and itâs so sad. You can easy find my...
Read moreRestaurant review: @darvishgoa is a family run restaurant in Vagator, and it has all the charms of a family based business. The restaurant itself is in the front yard and ground floor of their home, it has a homely feel ; unassuming and yet inviting ambience. The food is what they know and make at home - Persian , Mediterranean fare and Naga food , since they hail from these regions ( don't you just adore the mixed marriages and the fact that people of different origins have made their home in Goa ?) Coming to the food : Not only is it authentic, but also food that you won't get anywhere else in Goa. The seafood paella for example had a flavour intense broth, also rice specific for paella, and filled with calamari and mussels. Haven't had such since our visit to Barcelona. The bamboo shoot pork and the soup made with naga king chillies, along with black sesame pork was another example of regional cuisine true to its roots. A fatoush salad was are only nod at vegetarianism , which was nice aswell. For dessert we had the homemade baklava, just the way I Iike it , sticky and syrupy and stuffed with pista, not the dry flaky store bought variety. All in all it's a real off the beaten track restaurant, with dishes that are conversation starters. . It is 29 km from my home - and a place has to be worth my time and effort to go there, also I value all of your time aswell. I do wish they were on Swiggy or Zomato though for home delivery. Also I wore my flamenco...
