Soulmate Beach Resort — Hotel in Goa

We were extremely disappointed with this accommodation and what we received for the high price paid.

To start with the positives Soulmates is located right next to the beach and has a good speed and stable internet connection.

Now to the negatives, we were looking for a relaxing beach vacation and unfortunately this is not the place to enjoy that; the room and bathroom were run down, dirty and not comfortable: sticker floor peeling off, sheets with holes and old dirty blanket provided, toilet seat broken, the smell in the room was so bad we had to light up incense. The fan in room was extremely noisy, on the other hand the AC only had power during short times during the day so neither were helpful. Even though this place is so close to the beach you have no place to sit or enjoy out on the beach so that positive is really a waste s you have to go look for another place to spend your day.

The customer service was unfortunately not better, not friendly or helpful, we didn't recieve one recomendation. There was also no communication from them when 3 out of the 4 days we stayed, they had scheduled to fix up several rooms and all day long there was noise, dirt, workers, etc and when we expressed our discomfort they didn't really care and just told us the manager wasn't present.

I'm not a picky customer, AT ALL, but when I receive service this bad, I have to be honest and clear about it.

We paid $38 a night for this place, which is definitely not worth it. Save yourselves money and a bad experience that will ruin your few days in Goa and look for...

I stayed at this place in the month of August in a side sea view room (Room 02). This is their second most expensive room. I'll list my experience.

Dirty and weird bathroom. Water coming out of taps was thin and had to ask the staff to turn on the pumps 3 to 4 times every day for 3 days. No hot water when needed. No basic bathroom utilities like soap, shampoo. Room smelt. We were warned of rats in the room on arrival and yes, I lost a Tshirt and trouser because of that. Stray dogs make a mess of any food item kept outside, which you have to because of the rats. Very bad entrance and reception. Did make the owner aware of the experience the 1st day itself, he kept saying that we should tell him the problems in order to fix it. But, the problems we faced were just basic things that a resort should provide for without asking. The whole vibe from the place was "dishonesty" . They charge full price in a season in which they really tone down their facilities to a level that is well and truly below expectations even in a basic hotel.

I am also surprised at the 5 star reviews for this place, especially from people who have stayed around the same time as we have. Actually most of these reviews are from businesses (pest control, movers, music school, etc). This just tells you how dishonest everything about this place is. Unhygienic rooms, ACs don't work, bathrooms are extremely dirty where neither the flush, the shower or the drainage work; mice in rooms and a smooth talking manager who misguides people.

We had booked 5 prepaid rooms in Soulmate Agonda and had the worst holiday of our lives. The manager continuously lied about the condition of rooms and fixtures and made us change room after room when confronted. Each and every room in this makeshift hotel is not worth a single penny and poses a serious health hazard in terms of hygiene.

The manager after everything has the audacity to ask everyone to write good reviews for the hotel. Most of the reviews are fake/paid and no one should spend even a minute in this atrocious setup! Even after asking multiple times to speak with the owner no one guided us to him. The booking in charge Manik will stop taking your calls as soon as the money is transfered. Such unhygienic places should be shut down immediately for the safety of the unassuming guests.

Special mention Raj, the restaurant incharge who did everything that he could to compensate our horrible stay with good food. 5 stars for the attitude served! Also Tara, the housekeeper who tried his best to repair whatever was repairable or doable. 5 stars for the effort.
