We have been to SERENITY in february 2020 for 3 weeks and stayed in a seafacing room. We know Agonda very well and come here frequently. We know about the technical capabilities at this place and do not expect a 5* Hyatt-, Hilton- or Sheraton-Performance from any resort. But from Serenity we returned with mixed emotions. Reasons for that:
IN OUR OPINION THE PRICE-PERFORMANCE-RATIO AT SERENITY-RESORT IS NOT OK.
Serenity is a higher price resort compared to other beach resorts at Agonda. They charged us a tariff of 7000 INR for a seafacing room per night. There is no long-term-discount. In total they have about 21 huts in season 2019/20. We had the impression, that the technical equipment is not adapted to this amount of huts and guests:
to get hot water from the shower, water had to flow approx. 10 minutes. You can`t go easy on water-resources that way. Even so, most of the time we had cold to lukewarm water. The hot water tank seems to be not big enough for 21 rooms. in some rooms the waterpressure is very low Aircondition: Most of the time without function. Problems in power supply restart and reboot AC nearly every minute and makes AC switching on and off and on and off….. For the amount of rooms and guests the resort did not provide enough sunbeds and sun-umbrellas. Many sun-umbrellas were not to use and laying broken behind the huts.
The resort-staff knows about all problems but seems to be helpless to change for the better. For us the resort-staff has not been very proactive to solve any problem. After we have sent an complaint-email to the management some action took place: A bundle of new sun-umbrellas and 2 sunbeds have been delivered to the resort.
In one of the seafacing rooms, No 106, the noise pollution was not acceptable if the weather was windy: A palmtree, which stands close to the hut, strikes heavily against wall and roof of the hut. The whole structure moves. Sleeping is not possible. We changed the room into another. The resort-staff also knows about that problem. But no efforts to solve it for following guests.
What we did like:
Every room gets 2 x 0,5l waterbottles per day. Cleaning staff is very friendly. Room-Cleaning, new towels and linen are provided daily. Security-staff in resort
In conclusion, we have the impression that SERENITY is trying to maximize their profits. The number of rooms have been extended, the technical infrastructure has not. This seems to be the reason, that there is not enough hot water for all, not enough power for the AC and also not enough sunbeds and umbrellas.
As we mentioned before: For us, the price-performance-ratio at...
Read moreWe booked a sea facing double room here for couple stay for three nights. I had to pay one night's charges in advance and, to be honest, that had made me a little skeptical. However, the stay here was simply exemplary and we had an amazing time.
The rooms were extremely cozy and comfortable, and offered a great view of the beach and sea in front. They have a large, spacious washroom with hot water facility. Check in was smooth and we were also allowed to check in around an hour ahead of schedule. The staff were extremely hospitable and courteous, always there to greet you with a smile. They inquired at the reception about our travel plans and, on hearing we were first timers to Goa, were more than happy to help us out fine tune our program. They helped arrange an early morning boat trip on the sea for dolphin-viewing which was a unique experience. There is a restaurant on the premises where you get amazing dishes. They also have some excellent seafood and we tried the prawns and pomfret. We also got to experience an evening of live music.
The beach is one among the clean and peaceful ones in Goa where you can go for a nice swim in the relatively calm waters or simply chill on a deck chair on the beach. There are also several restaurants and shops nearby that one can explore.
Only drawback I felt was the road leading to the property which is quite narrow and makes driving a bit of a challenge. There is limited parking space - enough for maybe 6 SUVs - but the staff will readily help you out with alternate parking arrangements.
On the whole, it was a great experience and would love to come back for another...
Read moreThe worst resort in South Goa. We had a horrible experience here from the 1st day itself.
No on time Check-in which wasted our half an hour of the 1st day.
Rooms were not satisfactory. It has open bathroom. Don't choose this resort if you expect more privacy. Polluted Water in the bathroom. No action taken even after complaining.
No proper communication and staff is not cooperative.
They have volleyball pitch but ball is not available at the hotel. Management said it's torn but staff said no air in the ball. No idea who to believe.
All mentioned drinks in the menu are not available. Food quality is average. 6) Tiny rooms. No space to stand between the cupboard and bed. Worst design ever made.
Polluted Water in bathroom. We couldn't feel to wash our face atleast.
No phone in the room for room service. You have to to walk to reception everytime to make any oreder.
Hospitality to foreigners is different. We were disappointed to this. Please treat every customer the same.
Thank You for your reply. Either it's bugdet or superior category, irrespective of this, service should be atleast satisfactory. Prices you mentioned here are not the same in Booking.com. It costed us ₹12950 + tax(1555) for 2 rooms 2 nights. Budget category doesn't mean, you let your customers experience such unavoidable issues and spoil vacation days. It's not only about room we mentioned in our review. Please do read full review and go through all the issues we faced. Hope you address all the issues and resolve it from your...
